Aura of Consumption - Vitality Deceiver build help

Hey all,

I’ve been playing around with a Vitality build using Radaggan’s set and Damnation for Vitality caster build.

My issue I’m currently having is maintaining the Will of Rattosh Devotion and managing 3000 DA which I usually like to achieve and was hoping there may be some gear suggestions here to help me out.

I don’t currently have all of this gear or roles, since I’m still leveling it, but the final build should be exceptionally potent with fantastic RR, ADCtH and insane levels of Vitality damage from SoC, Doom Bolt and Aura of Censure and using Acid Purge with Acid Spray as my primary attack for DoT/Flat RR.

I have never built a Deceiver or a build like this, so any BiS gear I may have missed I am happy to look into!

Some ideas: new Pants. New 2nd ring because Mark of the fallen will always be up then you don’t need 2 fallen rings.
I think your devotion path isn’t optimal. Dying God (Hungering Void) should be picked. Ulcama and Affliction can be cut.

I also made some changes on your skill points. I love the Raven but you don’t need it if you don’t have supporting pet gear. The heal is negligeable. Inquisitor Seal is so much better for defensive purposes. Solael’sWF (aura/toggle) is almost useless in a caster build but for the resistance and/or if you have some %weapon damage on your skills. I see you use Acid Purge as your RMB. This ability is energy hungry and if you want to stay in long fights, you 'll need an off-hand for nrj sustain. You can choose from:

Devotion path

This is what I would do (and have done) for a Vitality caster with off-hand.

I think you can pick up quite a bit from Superfluff’s guide.

Small thing but i think the Word of Renewal modifier only applies to 2H-weaponary :wink:

  • Decree of Malmouth
  • one Cursebearer ring
  • Riftwarped Grasp gloves (Valguur is pointless as you max SoC without it, you need another dmg source - Doom Bolt)
  • maybe Skull of Gul’something on account of flat and cdr (you’d have to do the math if it’s worth dropping the duration bonus)

Other suggestions:

  1. Da problems are solved by using one-point Bloody Pox with maxed Wasting
  2. You got no real output for weapon damage so stacking vitality flat (as in Second Rite) is pointless
  3. Funny thing that Raven for heals. I don’t know if it works. But even if it does you shouldn’t be needing it.
  4. Get Box with Tether for that Bat. I know it’s another button but you’ll be shooting those Twin Fangs like machine gun. SoC gives you max 1 a second and much less with no crowds.

Very good points, I always forget that about SW and it’s wasted points, have made some changes including adding a second weapon loadout with Decree and Skull and swapping in Word of Pain and Inquisitors Seal

So you’d ditch Manticore and Acid Spray?
Mine is not far off that, but I always spec in Manticore for the flat RR

I had specced Dying God into my updated build, see above.
Good idea on Riftwarped, for some reason I thought the damage conversion was the other way around which is why I avoided them!
Have removed SW and Raven for Inquisitors seal, Word of Pain (1 point) and bloody pox.

I’m hesitant to add another skill like Storm Box for Bat, I know it might proc more often, but I just don’t want another skill to case xD

Have completed the build and this thing currently feels invincible.

I should not I don’t enjoy crucible - I find it stressful - so this build is just from running dungeons and stuff.

I have actually dropped Inquisitors seal and Word of pain, focusing on Curse of Frailty, Bloody Pox, Sigil of Consumption and Doom bolt.
So far this works well and the amount of ADCtH in conjunction with the damage blocked makes this an extremely tanky build, as the aura is constantly healing and I just run around debuffing enemies to heal more.

If I start to take a bit more damage than I’d like I just cast a sigil and stand in it and let the mobs heal me as they die.

Then Doom Bolt with the axe/gauntlet combo means I can cast it often and it is 100% Vitality damage, which ends up being from 40,000 - 80,000 damage per bolt so single target damage is more or less accounted for.

Gotta get to some harder content, but I actually really enjoy this built right now.

Also dropped Acid Spray cos yeah… That shit drains energy like crazy!

How does Acid Spray drain energy? It’s a devotion proc. Anyways dropping it on a vitality build (except Ravenous Earth build) is a mistake.
