It doesn’t make any sense to limit aura giving components to either ranged or melee.
We have melee aura’s for fire and colddamage types, yet the lightning aurais exclusive to ranged. Why separate auras on the basis of damage type?
On the other hand we have a piercing aura that is common to both Ranged and Melee. Why not model the others after the piercing aura?
Currently the only “melee” builds that can make use of Lightning aura are semi-casters. And the only one’s that can use the fire and cold auras are the ones using Gun + Focus combo (really bad combination, in terms of fun atleast)
I’ve noticed this too. There’s a weird discrepancy between damage types and component types here that seems unnecessary. I have a feeling there was an effort to make some sort of distinction between the types, but it just ends up being limiting without adding anything beneficial to gameplay.
I don’t disagree with you Chton, but in the other hand i’ve always thought ammos should be for guns only, it makes no sense to have it on foci. i don’t find aura component very powerful either, the only positive point it’s that you could put them on your second skill bar and forget about them
tldr, give us just active skills, tied for ranged and/or melee builds depending on restriction, and keep auras for shield/off-hand. simple isn’t it !
Lol, yeah. It’d be weird to have hell bane’s ammo for a sword
I don’t need my sword to launch bullets (idea for a game )
I just need that aura, well the flat damage and little extra %damage is nice. I don’t disagree with limiting them to casting equipment, but that flat damage kinda goes to waste on some casters. Besides making them common for both melee and ranged would give all three (melee, casters, gunslingers) access to them. While it’s not a big boost to some builds, other builds could benefit from it.
The only reason i raised this is because i find it weird we have fire and cold aura for melee, even though fire and cold are in no way stronger than lightning which is restricted to ranged components. It’d make much more sense if you they were made available for all.
