Auto pick-up for components/crafting mats

Speaking purely for myself, this would be a huge improvement. To be honest, I’m not sure why it isn’t implemented in the game already. There must be some underlying factor that I’m just not seeing.

Not sure if anyone else has this issue, but I sometimes have problems picking things up in this game. Quite often I have to click 2-3 times to pick things up. Minimizing the amount of items on screen I have to actively click to loot would be amazing.

Anyhow, just a thought/wish/plea.

The argument that I have recently seen is some people don’t want it. But then why not make it an option?

Because why waste tons of time on something that maybe only 20%-if that-of players want?

That’s time better spent developing content.

Yeah, the option should be on a toggle, no doubt.

Hell, I wouldn’t mind an option to toggle off auto-potion pickups on some of my tanky characters, as I never use them.

Tons of time? I thought this would be pretty easy to implement, especially since it’s a feature that exists already for potions.

Is it really that hard to implement though? Serious question.

I’m not a modder/coder, so I’ve honestly got no clue.

From a layman perspective, it seems like it should be easy enough, but what do I know.

Plus the game comes with modding tools / guides etc, so it should be possible to make a mod to give a list of items with a checkbox beside to include into the autopickup.

Regardless of how long it takes, Crate is a very small team and they have to have a limit on how many “this won’t take that long” additions / changes they can make otherwise nothing else would get done.

I would prefer it to be base game as I don’t like mods. I have seen so many complaints about a game being bugged when it turned out to be a mod that was the cause. I don’t even use an infinite stash mod and just deal with mules for this reason. (I know that they won’t put the infinite stash into the base game and have accepted it).
