Auto Potion Pickup

I agree with you, difrent ppl got difrent play styles. Toggle will be the best solution.

Couldn’t thy just have the one potion type Health potion or whatever, and just have it scale based on your hp/level? For it to just restore a percentage of your hp based on your max hp? That way, you could just autopick them up freely. At the same time though, I don’t want them to be so abundant as to, in TQ. I’d buy pots, clear an area, and come back with more than I bought

i voted yes because of my personal play style but agree a toggle would be a better solution.

It depends on how items are stacked and how much inventory space. I would prefer clicking to pick up items rather than spending a lot of time removing items from my inventory that I didn’t want/need. As many have previously stated, the toggle option seems to be the best option.

I think this would be a positive change. The addition of automatically picking up potions would reduce down time by a few seconds every wave of mobs, reducing the overall amount of clicks you make by a small amount, as well as reduce ground clutter.

Picking up potions can get very tedious when the are lodged between important loot you want to pick up and move on, though color coding also helps with this issue. Though the game is mostly clicking, I don’t really think picking up potions automatically really takes away from the game, but rather lets you focus on important things like loot.

Talking about Health potions matbe we can go further into the mechanics that Grinding gear games implimented where the pots auto refill when you kill mobs? Think its a great thing perhaps you are thinking about adding it already?

I voted yes, but also agree that there should be a toggle for automatic pickup of potions (best of both).

Dang nooo! Let us the reward to click on that big pile of gold!
I really hate how d3 turned all those automation… Seems theres no reward of picking gold

No on auto potion pickup.

If 98% of everything that drops is rubish then I still need something to pick up so I don’t just zone out of the looting part of the game.

Grim Dawn has auto-potions but you are constantly having to stop and pick up orbs and scrolls, Torchlight 2 has auto gold pickup but there are always potions there for you to grab.

If you auto pick up both gold and potions then the only thing I’m going to be looking for are rares and uniques which will probably only drop about 2% of the time, at which point the looting system may as well not even be there.

Exactly!! The best thing would be to let us pick gold and potion
But anyway I’m gonna play as you guys wish. Those automation are good only to alienation of a pure grind for unique and rare who rarely drop.

Sorry for bad english there lol (shy)

Actually an option to turning on or off automatic potion pick up would be great and solves the problems:). I do not mind picking up it myself like in most ARPG’s, would rather like auto gold pick up.

It also depends if potions will fill up inventory slots, if you gonna make tiers like small potion, great potion etc. Do not see sense with auto picking up small potions for 50 lvl character for example:P

You have a point there, in fact, 2 i mean! I like your ideas sir!

Considering there is only one tier of potions, I love the idea of an auto-pick up option just to cater for those who do not like the idea of it so they can turn it off.

Also another idea is just having a ‘collect all’ button, like Sacred 2 expect just for potions, that either picks up all on screen or just a radius around the player. I like the all potions on screen option.

My two cents on this.

Some great points made right there +1 for you mate

Potions are important. We can all agree on that. Just like the auto-gold pickup, this is a neat feature. To stream-line the auto function and eliminate the concern of picking up lesser potions you do not desire to carry, I propose this idea:

Make a separate inventory column for potions only. One slot for each type of potion. The player places a desired potion in its respective slot in this column, and only that potion is set to “auto” for pickup. When a better potion becomes available, swapping it out with the lesser potion in the column makes it the new “auto”.

In this manner, only the desired potion is collected automatically.

And/Or a follow on idea is that all potions are collected and only those that are lesser to the chosen ones in the potion column are converted to their iron value.

There’s only one type of potion, so this will not be necessary I’d say, but a fair suggestion nonetheless, and welcome to the forums!

i voted hell yea

you will pick up millions of potions in your time playing the game, just automate it and let us focus on other things. its more work to keep running around picking them up than it is to drop a stack if you have too many

Potions won’t be so bountiful when it comes to drops in Grim Dawn. I think Crate is going for less potions (used in emergencies) and the ability to regenerate life outside of combat or something. You can scan through medierra’s comments in this thread to get the gist of it.

Of course, if you drop a stack, auto pickup will pick them right back up again

I voted No, but since I see that its gonna be close race, why not make that feature available and customizable? Those who dont want it, can check in Options, and problems solved.
Unless its too complicated to harmonize it all in MP, if one has has the auto pick-up and the other doesnt
