Now i wish I went pyromancer xD with how hard arcanist support was nerfed compared to occ buffs…
don’t think I have the patience to redo veteran/elite/ultimate on a DW pistol demo again… anyone would have a pyro savefile so i can just transfer my sorcerer gear and try this version out?
You missed the point. You wear epic/legendary gear, half BiS by your own description, yet in the next sentence you call your gear trash. If your current gear is trash, I assume the yellows, greens and low level epics you once levelled with are considered green goo or something lower, right?
What he is able to achieve with perfect gear is higher paper dps, he is lacking alot of -enemy resists, turning on maiven will cut his dps also, i doubt his real dps will be higher than mine. in terms of defense, the stats he showed isn’t even remotely close to mine, i don’t know what your talking about “perfect survi”. many low resists, 900 vs. 1500 armor, 10k hp vs 13k, 1600 DA vs. 1900, minimal hp regen vs. 450hps to 1500hps<- this is the game changer in my build. i know for a fact he has to kite and cannot facetank + shotgun, further lowering his dps.
Original Mad Sorcerer build is using double Exterminus (double -33% Fire/Chaos resi debuff), Viper (20% reduced target’s Elemental resi) and Rhowan’s Crown (-[12-25] flat Elemental resi), which all stack together = he has better -resi than your setup.
Where you apply “just” extra chaos damage, sorc applies burn/frostburn/electrocute and also converts 25% of his physical damage into elemental, all of that gets boosted by his -resi setup. His perfect gear is quite important for the fact that he has 2x Lifegiver Signet, which gives him lots of Lifestealing, even before he activates Bloodthirster from Haunted Steel. With that, armor and DA doesn’t matter, but just fyi, his boots also have a proc that gives +300 armor. And he doesn’t need any regen, because he regens from the lifestealing.
But even without perfect gear it works - I’m levelling it up now, using Outlaw’s epic gun + random, with just Blessed Steel and Combat Medic badge I dropped. I can facetank bosses already no problem, no kiting around.
are you sure the -33 -33 from both exterminus stack to -66 -66?
I’m rly not sure about it, and from playing that build for a lot of hours it really doesnt seem so
still the 2nd exterminus is awesome for its +skills bonii
but @poster above me, without deviltongue healproc have fun trying ult fabius & even ult iron maiden… u get shredded
2 exterminus procs do not stack with eachother, only 1 will work. i have more -resist.
mark of dreeg -15, curse of frailty -36, exterminus -33, solael’s witchblade -20, viper to amplify all of it. how exactly does he have more -resist?
he has crown which is 10 more than dreeg, while i have curse + solael’s witchblade over him which is 56 more. the math really isn’t hard…even if you count 2x exterminus, which do not stack, i STILL have more.
your leveling, most things work just fine in elite and early ult. at least wait til you reach end game content before commenting about what you can and cannot facetank using a particular build.
i’m using the same boots proc as him… again please read before comment.
relying on lifesteal has poor ability to survive burst. it also requires you to have to attack, if you need to kite or get stunned it does not work. but his build obviously has no choice and he is forced to do so, another downside of arcanist at the moment.
Alot of end game farming entails running past worthless mobs, if your not attacking you aren’t life stealing, regen is always on.
blessed steel is bad, it replaces your firestrike cast, and can miss. also only single target on a CD. use dreeg instead.
your making a fuss about me having 7/14 BiS (6/14, since my ulzuin’s roll is shit) and saying i have trash gear, and yet the build you are using as a example to compare to mine has perfect gear.
save for a few knowledgeable people like ninetrix and Most, majority of people arguing theorycraft against me in my builds don’t really know wtf they are talking about… so if you want to argue that your build is better or that i’m wrong, post your better/easier clear times of endgame content using said build. that is alot more convincing than theorycraft based on incorrect information, thanks.
That may be worth checking. With target dummies! If only there was combat log or at least debuffs icons displayed on monsters
It seems that proc debuffs from dual wielding same weapons DO NOT stack. Weapons may be different, but proc is the same, so perhaps it just overwrites itself
boc vid really isn’t though, you’re skipping the vast majority of enemies. how is ‘7 minute boc’ an apt description? you’re literally just testing how quickly you can run through a dungeon with 133% movement speed. any build can do that.
watching the times when you do clear it looks relatively sluggish too, though the tankiness is cool, especially single target (though you still have to kite sharzul so). you’re building it wrong by not putting more points into blast shield though, skill is beyond broken.
i don’t mean to be too rough with you, it’s a good build. your title is just really disingenuous, especially considering you’re intentionally ribbing on the way i title my build threads, yet killing like 10% of the monsters that i am while boasting about a faster clear speed.
Most builds are hexed. 7 BiS items are not trash. It’s actually so good that I doubt you got it legit anyway. Also your join date here is only a few months old, so even more doubtful.
there is nothing derisive that is directed at your post, in fact i had just mentioned you in an above post as one of the few knowledge people here.
also just added a 9min BoC clear with killing all heros i run into.
the thing is im not sure if heros are even worth killing compared to chests/nemesis now. the drop rate is so bad.
what does maxing blastshield offer me? more projectile avoidance doens’t help me since the strong attacks from mobs are all melee. i have yet to run into a situation where i went “o shit i wish that projectile didn’t hit me” its always some big melee hit that drops me low.
one big thing that cuts down my dps on sharzul and many pulls of BoC is the fumble attack, i think it affects this build alot more than many others. not sure there’s any solution to it. sharzul seems to take a long time despite compared to other bosses due to the fumble, maybe he has fire / chaos resist i dunno.
it’s actually 6/14 BiS, ulzuins roll is trash.
chain farmed nemesis for my gear, fabius, few mins per run. everything 100% legit
join date a few month? thats longer than legendaries being released. i play more than i’d like to admit =\
having tested in b31 they seem to have boosted drop rates for enemies by the listed amount (25%) but not applying that boost to roguelike chests (though i could be wrong here). my last 15 or so runs i’m actually noticing less legendaries from the chests but significantly more from the enemies themselves. you’re actually gimping your legendaries per hour quite heavily by not killing more.
also blast shield is literally the best defensive skill in the game. i completely ignored it for a long time because i thought it was flat absorption like turtle shell, but after zars said it reduces the damage taken by the listed amount per hit, i remembered how broken absorption was in titan quest and did some of my own testing, and the result is that blast shield alone can carry you through any content effortlessly
here’s my post from a feedback thread:
"for anyone curious, ‘per hit’ absorption in titan quest was insane because it actually reduced incoming damage by the existing amount per damage type, while additionally double dipping on physical damage, which was separated into ‘absorbed by armor’ and ‘not absorbed by armor’
so if you had 100 damage absorption, had 100 armor, and got hit by an attack that dealt 300 physical damage, 150 piercing damage, 150 cold damage, and 150 fire damage, the following would happen:
200 physical damage goes through your armor, 100 of it gets absorbed by the damage absorption
100 physical damage is reduced by 70% due to your armor, all 100 of it is absorbed by the damage absorption
150 pierce damage, 100 of it is reduced by damage absorption
150 cold damage, 100 of it is reduced by damage absorption
150 fire damage, 100 of it is reduced by damage absorption
total damage taken from that hit is 250, vs the 680 damage you would have normally taken (after reduction from armor)"
so what this means is that 12/12 blast shield means every hit you take is reduced by 800 per damage type, with physical damage being reduced by 1600 per hit due to the way it deals with armor. it also gets extra value from overcapping, meaning with 16/12 blast shield every physical hit you take is reduced by 2500 lol.
even at 12/12, no enemy (including sharzul) on elite difficulty has been able to inflict damage to me with it active. i’m just about to take my CT sorc to ultimate so i’ll test how much is needed for complete immunity on ultimate, but probably not much more than 16/12.
it’s the single most overpowered skill in the game.
but anyway, glad there’s no beef, i like your build a lot.
the skill description is kind of misleading then, it does seem very OP now, going to give it a try. lol@100% avoidance at lvl 22, maybe that’ll stop the fumble attack from sharzul. i wonder if CDR reduces recharge times on stuff like blastshield and fighting spirit…
regardless of the 25% buff, probably fabius runs still net the most legendaries per hour. the BoC runs were purely to test build.
although grinding cronley rep on a new char is rather excruciating…
Nice guide and setup. I’m currently stuck / bored with my commando but do like to play with guns in this game. I will try your build out in the coming days.
One thing I don’t enjoy is using Grenado and Canister Bomb. I guess you can still level with fire strike and the transmuter even if it will be considerably slower? I have quite a bit of decent leveling available, so that should make it a bit more feasible.
Why are you people in every build thread? I have most of this gear just from playing other classes… if you don’t have anything to contribute to the thread other than accusations and whining, why don’t you just stay out?
Ye. But the issue with ToS is that if you can clear both ToS and BoC at relatively quick speeds ToS still takes considerably longer to run to, which makes it a massive downer when it comes to churning out legendaries per hour.
