Beast Nemesis in Elite is too soon - without farming

Hi all,

ReachforThesky and I are leveling a new build togheter, both Tactician piercing shield build. Since the start we did all quest without farming. The problem is having Nemesis rank in Elite for the beast Faction. It’s way too soon, the only reason why we managed to deal with him is because we have a defensive set-up. Reachforthesky almost died at firt with maxed resist, high health pool and 45% physical resist. It was ok otherwise but our damage wasn’t enought. So we lvled another lvl to get lvl 75 and we killed him.

All in all, the beast reputation gained have to be adjusted!

I agree. Revered on mid elite, without any mandates etc, is just too early. Especially seeing how ridiculous this nemesis is. People at this stage rarely will be even ready for it.

Not sure what the complaint is here.

  1. Did you want to kill him on elite and it was too hard? Mogdrogen on Elite is pretty hard too.

  2. Did you not want to kill him and found it too hard to run away?

If you don’t want to kill him then just run away. If you want to kill him then you’re literally just complaining that it’s too hard with your set of characters, doesn’t necessarily mean that no character build can kill him on Elite.

I do not want the beast reputation gain to be adjusted. Instead asking for certain monsters to be changed to a different type would be better. Or of course removing certain monsters or reducing density.

He needs a nerf. He’s twice as tough as Grava’Thul. Him being on Grava’s difficulty is fine. Grava’s aura debuff is bad but you can be a little careful around him

Multiple Cabras can easily beat the shit out of you, each individual clone hits like a truck. Let’s not forget what a nightmare kiting is thanks to those blood pools especially in closed spaces

1)Mogdrogen is a super boss. He outclasses any nemesis. Even Ultimate nemesis fail against elite mogdrogen

  1. The point is the beast faction rep is too easy farm. I don’t find it problematic but the nemesis itself is. He is too hard

My point is that the title was misleading, it says that the beast nemesis was much too easy to be made available, not that it was too hard to be killed in elite.

The nemesis itself can be tuned to be easier in Elite. Please title your threads properly.

My title says exactly what it’s supposed to.
You get Nemesis rank too soon with beast.
Also compared to other faction that’s the only one you got nemesis rank in Elite without farming.

Most people aren’t geared enough to face such a treat once they reach the xpac in Elite. Also, the new Nemesis seems to be much harder in general. All in all we were using the best gear for our build at lvl 75.

Could it be easier for Elite, probably considering it’s mechanic. Then again i faced him once in duo with someone else, both with a Tactician piercing shield build (real tanky…). For us it was kinda easy but we were really tanky, max resist, about 15k health, 55% physical resist for me and 45% for the other player.

You don’t have to kill the nemesis in Elite with the gear you have at the time - this is my point why your title is misleading. You’re not required to do so, but you want to, and you’re saying it’s too strong. I don’t disagree with the fact that the nemesis may need to be tuned to be easier, but I disagree with what you’re arguing, that you find it mandatory to kill it.

Anyway, like I said, I support nerfing the nemesis if it’s much harder than other nemesis in Elite.

Was playing through expansion on my 85 conjurer just to see how things were, came across one of the new Nemesis on Veteran difficulty lol.

Just my opinion, but i don’t think Crate really thought his gimmick through. Like, a Nemesis that splits into smaller copies that do less damage but that damage is rather high. That just on paper doesn’t sound very fun and it isn’t on practice.

It’s just a tiring battle that makes me not want to farm it. And when you don’t to farm a Nemesis or at least rebattle him just for fun, i think you did something wrong.

Sure, you don’t have to kill any Nemesis, you can always quit and start another session, hoping that this time, they spawn somewhere else not interfering with your quest/story progression.
As safe as that is, though, it’s also rather disruptive and discouraging when you’re trying to explore and progress through a new area (that you can otherwise handle quite well) for the first time.

Just wtf is that bastard? If someone over there at Crate thought thats funny - it isn’t. I don’t know what would I do on encounter if my build had no cheese tactic of some sort, quit/restart? With that infamy gain rate you have to pray he won’t come out of the blue in elite to eat you while you are still trying to put together adequate resistances etc.

Then that flower (ugdenbloom) that you now need by the dozens for any craft also happen to be ugdenbog only drop, so make yourself ready for funny cabras in every session?

I honestly have no idea how both Crate and beta players didn’t see this issue. Beasts are everywhere so no wonder that they will be the easiest to reach nemesis status early on. And instead of creating something balanced to tackle with a not fully-geared and min-maxed build, they throw out this monstrosity. I just wonder how many people who just got the game because of the expansion pack, will get either frustrated by corpse throwing or just insta-gibbed in HC.

I completed the game on all 3 difficulties and my Nemesis reputation is still not finished…

I have beast at nemesis after ultimate homestead part and it took me by surprise, I think people who take time clearing out every area will have it by elite

Probably because all the testers know the game’s systems inside out, since they’re drawn from forum regulars who’ve been shown to know their stuff. So that leads to a few balance issues, since issues that newer or less clued up players with certain enemies will be missed until the content is released to the public. Usually though the nerf hammer gets swung on the worst offenders come post release balance passes and I’m fully expecting the 3 new nemesis’s to get nerfed a bit to make them less of a pain the in the rear for less optimised builds.

Probably well before the end if they’re farming for beast faction MI’s or ancient hearts.

I am on act 1 Elite, level 70 and already Nemesis beast

I agree. I approached the expansion right on in ultimate (what a hassle with my blademaster ) and got Nemesis with beasts really fast. I didn’t even consider that i would meet a Nemesis at my first entrance into the rift in Mourndale. I met the purple boss (who’s name i forgot) and then an even bigger asshole showed up and fucked me up per one shot. hooray! Man, i was really pissed but thats okay. Just unexspeted and early for Nemesis status in my view.

Yeah it seems a bit off compared to the others. I hit nemesis right at the start of act2 in Elite(on those boars right at the start). That’s on a new char and while I did go out of my way to clear most maps and do as many quests as possible I didn’t farm anything in normal, I did do AoM areas though which give a ridiculous amount of negative rep with like 2/3 of the expansion being beasts.

Meanwhile it’d be nice to have a way to get more rep from Cronley since that one is slow as hell. Just in general making the mobs give more negative rep would probably be quite useful due to how limited it is as a faction.
