Beronath's Fury Vs Righteous Fervour for Ret Warlord

Hello,
I’m relatively new to GD and my retaliation warlord has really lost his edge at level 75, I realised it’s probably because I need more appropriate gear and I’ve neglected components.Anyway I have learnt the blueprint for Shard of Beronath (for Beronath’s Fury), my question is:

Should I replace Righteous Fervour with Beronath’s Fury?

I’m loosely following Drunken Fwuffy’s ret build.(https://www.grimtools.com/calc/62aPl8BN)

And here’s my build/gear atm: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/L2JpBGDZ

You should replace it with Cadence and replace retal stuff with %physical.

Hate to discourage you, but the reason why retal builds are sparsely recommended for beginners is because flat retal values largely come from gear. You couldn’t part ways with your level 40 armor while you’re level 75 because it gives about 2.5-3 times more retal than what you get with your skill and devotion choices. The latter are especially subpar because if you’re levelling with retal you just have to agressively beeline everything retal related in devotions in an efficient manner. Your mistake is e.g. picking Ghoul, Tortoise, Stag while you should’ve used these points for stuff that actually gives the most flat retal at the given moment - Targo, Shieldmaiden, Messenger of War, Autumn Boar, then go for Obelisk of Menhir. There’s no room for fucking up your devotions if you level with retal.

Also, you actually can make use of “of Thorns” yellow/green gear instead of keeping your old Perdition Pieces.

Oh right, if you’re sticking with retal then keep Righteous Fervor. It should have better DPS than Beronath’s Fury if your retal is worth at least something.

Oh sweet, that’s real interesting! I think I’ll do a complete overhaul then I think and respec for levelling until I have some better gear then switch back to retal. Thanks a lot, that’s very helpful
