Belgothian Carnage set is finally strong enough to put Blademasters back on the map among the best melee builds. With Markovian Stratagem medal (essential piece of jewellery for any Belgo BM) and permanent Fighting Spirit Belgo Blademaster is finally at the level of the very top builds.
But ever since FoA came out Belgo set added third mastery: Berserker. And Berserker’s side of things, well, it’s just sad. It’s few skill points to Bloodfangs - single target focused semi-bleed wps and 10% weapon damage for it and that’s it. My suggestion is to remove Berserker support and give it to any other mastery. Berserkers and especially Reavers already have the highest variety of auto-attacking builds, they don’t really need Belgo set (not with the half-assed support it offers now).
Ideas for third mastery support:
Inquisitor. Ranks to Aura of Conviction and/or to Word of Pain with conversions for the latter.
Occultist. Pierce %RR to CoF + chaos/vitality conversions tied to some kind of passive
Shaman. Ranks to Mog Pact, maybe enable Brute Force for dw via mod (with conversion)? Or even one of the 2h wps?
Not occultist. Bloodlust has that kind of support already (and crate kinda hates giving chaos to pierce) and a new DAR on awakened slaughter is coming. That’s basically an equivalent set except with whirling death (strength is a different discussion).
It’s whoever but Zerker in my book. I would prefer it to be Inquisitor since Infiltrators have always been getting jack all in terms of items support because Crate was always afraid they would be too op because of the class synergies. Well now, after all the FoA powercreep, I think those concerns can be in the past.
Reaper does have Morgh axe and (soon) Slaughter AA.
As I have always been a BM enjoyer main and this is one of my favorite builds since AoM, I wouldn’t be terribly excited with infiltrator. Reaver makes more sense to me personally if it has a 3rd class
In FoA Reaver Belgo has massive potential. All it needs is AoE.
Belgo BM took off with MA adjustments to the set and Asecension so that performs really well.
As for Reaver, the problem is that for single target Bloodfangs and Execution needlessly compete with one another.
For AoE Reaver needs solid Belgothian Shears changes. BM won’t use this WPS so it makes senese to me that Reaver will. This is something i’ve wanted to say for some time.
If this happens then all it needs is a healthy separation between Execution and Bloodfangs
That’s what I am saying, why bother with “healthy separation between Execution and Bloodfangs” just to create another slightly op Reaver. We have enough of those. You can do Pierce melee/ranged Reaver like 100 different ways.
Any other class would be much better and healthier for build diversity.
I like op Reavers as much as the next guy, but we have enough of those. You have a very strong AA on Reaver already, there are few makes you can make Pierce aa Reaver work. Give Belgo support to classes that don’t have that power and diversity. Maybe Infil and Reaper are too good already, but Trickster or Witch Hunter could definitely see some love.
No concerns will be in the past. As balance becomes tighter, any big modifier can turn even a random Defiler into an op beast.
I’d vote for Infiltrator as well. I’d like some big defensive mod to Conviction maybe. The output of the build should be good enough with the new Slaughter relic. Maybe 24% dr on attack for Conviction?
