Best DoT class?

Looking for a good dot class to play solo while waiting for my friend to catch up on our mains. So far I’m thinking spellbreaker but I’m down for anything as long as it has nice dots, which is my general prefered solo method.

http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/9423…just sayin:)

So a warder? :stuck_out_tongue:

Cadence DK/Warder?

Ritualist =)

Warder definitely, just because Devouring Swarm has a much higher bleeding resist reduction. Plus Necro only has Bleeding in Blood Boil.

Hmm, well my tank is already a warder so I’ll try it when my friend and I hit cap I guess. :stuck_out_tongue: Anything else? Preferably something that can do dots early since I’m leveling this alt solo

I think poison makes a good dot as well, unless you were specifically looking for a bleed class. I assume since you mentioned spellbreaker you’re looking for a melee type, so necro/nightblade or occultist/nightblade would both be good for melee poison.

I just saw a guide and apparently Spellbreaker was decent dot damage, that’s the only reason I was thinking of it. Personally don’t care what kind of dot, as long as it has decent aoe/single target capabilities :slight_smile:

Witchblade > Warder > Blood Boil.

Because:

  1. Enemies in AoM have huge physical damage output. Occultist can decrease that with just 2 points.
  2. Blade arc has an Internal Trauma component.
  3. Fevered Rage => guaranteed crits.
  4. BoD + Menhir => huge regeneration.
  5. You CAN’T make a build around bleed and just bleed because unlike poison there is an entire dungeon immune to it. Occultist opens you up the physical damage channel which also happens to be the best of them all because unlike vitality (which is the realm of the Shaman), mobs have only around 10% physical resistance on Ultimate. Sure, physical damage is gated through enemy armour, but when you crit for 100k you don’t care about 1000-5000 points. Other damage types encounter many more problems when they encounter 40%+ resistances… just saying.

You CAN’T make a build around bleed and just bleed because unlike poison there is an entire dungeon immune to it.

Na…they´re not immune, they only bleed slower. :wink:

Bleeding Trickster is really nice (but I´m biased because playing one).

Conjurer is very strong as well. Huge RR, lots of synergy, physical! , acid/poison and pierce resistances, %damage absorption, great debuffs, totems, fun and demanding gameplay while not being too reliant on gear, (has access to great itemization options nonetheless).
The only thing it lacks is a %weapon damage ability that makes good use of all the flat damage you will amass through skills, gear and devotion. This very downside is probably necessary and justified though, or else this class combination might be too powerful. This way it’ll force you to actually think of a creative solution that helps compensating for the lack of single target damage.
