Hey everyone,
Which faction do you think is the best choice? I’ve heard that Kymon has some BiS augments that reduce enemy damage by 20% or so. Is this reason enough to go Kymon over Death’s Vigil?
That augment is definitely good. But give us an idea of what your build is, what type of damage, a grimcalc link etc. There are some great pieces for leveling with either faction depending on what you are trying to build.
Thanks for your response Primeval. I’m basically your traditional Blademaster focused on piercing and cold damage (pretty boring, I know ). I’m not too concerned about pieces for leveling, but am interested in endgame potential. I’m not sure Death’s Vigil offers anything better than that augment.
Death’s vigil actually has some pretty good cold damage pieces, even relatively late into the endgame. I am not at home and I almost always go Kymon’s chosen I don’t recall off the top of my head what the specific augment differences are. I will look when I get home unless someone beats me to it
Definitely go Kymon for the damage reduction augment, the death’s order stuff really isn’t valuable. You shouldn’t need the specific resistance augments from death’s order to achieve good resists and their damage ring is cold/vitality + a tiny amount of OA or DA. Going off the top of my head here, but my blademaster’s damage is like 10% cold damage and we already have a pretty solid 600ish% modifier. Another 30-35% and tiny amount of oa/da is nothing in comparison to that damage reduction
They do have an okish ring at honored/revered, but the homestead ring is better anyway iirc. Pretty similar rings, but homestead has flat piercing instead of cold and +whirling death (or one of the auto procs at least) vs blade burst on the order ring
There ya go ^^^ what he said!
You’ve summed it up perfectly for me TomoDaK, thank you. Kymon it is then
If you have the writs You go Both and grab both factions Augments. You can also do the same thing with the Outcast if you want her Augments and her Legendary. You start off by picking 1 in Normal and then picking the same one in Elite Max out its rep. Buy a bunch of its augments, then on Ultimate you pick the other one and then max out their rep also.
This is the ideal solution and it’s what I did as well, just make sure you stock up on the augments before you switch to other faction.
Great advice, this sounds like the way to go. Thanks sfbistimg:)
What’s the augment that reduces damage by 20%? I can’t seem to find it in the Kymon quartermaster.
Kymons Will has a chance to reduce enemy damage by 20%
was searching for it as well. i was thinking damage absorbing, that would be OP.
reducing targets damage is good vs bosses obviously, but not what i thought it was
No, the augment is quite OP, it saves you 10-ish points in War cry.
Dont the Kymons augment and War Cry stack?
