If you want a melee build for Crucible Gladiator 150-170 it’s not going to be a very fun build. But for easy campaign farming there are tonns of super powerful fun melee builds and most of them can easily farm Crucible Gladiator 130-150. I would say that Belgothian Blademaster or even Infiltrator are hella powerful, spellbreakers are also traditionally very strong (but require rare gear).
Mostly I just don’t wanna lack on survival. When you played a semi-low geared spell caster as your first character, you almost develop PTSD starting at elite.
When I play MP I useally always see many Blademaster builds all the time, so maybe Belgothian Blademaster then.
Like Death Knight with a shield or Markovian Comando or Octavius Tactician. Those builds can farm highest levels of Crucible solo pretty comfortably. But they are not most fun/flashy builds nor they don’t happen to be most effective builds in Campaign.
Can AFK facetank Ravager with that, for example… And stomping all waves of Gladiator Crucible regardless of mutators, extra spawns, etc.
His “level” of tankiness is just ridiculous, because enemy’s chance to hit him is usually 0% (meaning he’s invulnerable to everything but very few skills).
But his DPS/clear speed isnt really impressive.
@ MK: You can’t really get to 0% chance to be hit just as you can’t get 100% to crit DA has big diminishing returns 4k whish is why I never liked that route
Oh, really? I’ll post you a video soon. How i killed ravager without EVER being hit…
For me, stacking DA is only worth it if you aim at 5k+ numbers.
Actually, almost 6.5k DA, considering that Grimcalc doesnt take into account good rolls and relic completition bonus, and with Banner from Crucible. But i’ve decided it’s a bit overkill, and changed devotions a bit to get Manticore (another resistance reduction) and improve DPS, at the cost of ~250 DA.
0%.
Enemies cant hit that character at all, except with skills that ignore DA (abilities like Devouring Swarm, some auras, ground effects, etc).
It was quite a challenge to make such a char in legit way. I think, i was REALLY lucky with that medal (oh, at it has +11% DA in fact), and with relic too (got +3%DA completition bonus before my components expired).
This. The difference between a 4000-4500k da build and a 5k+ da build is pretty significant. 4.5k builds will have a trivial time running through the main campaign, no matter your build. Only monsters you can’t facetank reliably (depending on build) is lokarr and mad queen. Once you get to around 5k those will be facetankable too and once you reach 5.5k+ you’re able to facetank ravager pretty safely.
Arcane / Necro build, seems great so far. Just casually farming som gear, on youtube a guy is doing 150-170 with it, about 1-2 month old video I saw.[/b]
But it requires Sharzul’s Worldeater (damn rare legendary), without it, it isnt worth a shit.
If you want to feel true Forcewave power, try my build: www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64706
physical commando is a good if not one of the best forcewave builds too pretty similar to witchblade but has more sheet dps and dot damage and can clear gladiator too.
Where does the diminishing return comes from?
The PTH formula itself actually rewards more and more when DA gets past 4K,
and if I took 2855 enemy OA (forgot where it was from),
PTH formula points to zero at around 6.1K~6.2K DA…
And i can confirm, that in real game, it works exactly this way too. Enemies cant score any hit at my character, his HP bar doesnt even move, if they dont possess DA-ignoring abilities.
There are actually increasing returns for DA, that’s why Runebound Topaz and few other DA items were nerfed in new patch.
