I have a feeling this question will be thoroughly examined/answered by “someone” shortly after xpac release with a “certain” guide.
My guess is that IEE will be good but not as powerful as Flame Touched. I think the damage from Flame Touched is slightly higher, but the real question is if flat OA is better than crit damage bonuses. Auras that give flat OA are rare whereas pet crit damage is more common, so my assumption is that Flame Touched will still be king (especially since demo also has access to Flashbang).
The one class no one seems to be talking about though is Inquisitor for pets. Aura of Conviction has a radius (therefore it will affect pets) which provides flat damage, flat OA, and physical resist. Inquisitor also has a DA debuff like Flashbang (Biting Cold), and Word of Renewal gives MORE flat damage to pets alongside nice survivability bonuses and movespeed. If you micro your pets to stand inside of Inquisitor Seal, they’ll also get the bonuses from that too (damage absorption and MORE flat damage). I’m no pet expert, but if Flame Touched and Flashbang helped make one of the best pet builds of all time, then Inquisitor could be a great support class for all the same reasons.
