Speaking of which, why is bloody whetstone so much more difficult to grind out than any other component in the game? And it has cascade effects on anything that uses bloody whetstone in crafting, like seal of blades. I grind a ton, I have 5 lvl 100 characters and another 5 in the 80’s, and I feel like I spend half my freaking time killing all the Hives.
So, back to the topic…where are the best places to grind out serrated spikes, or better yet, blessed or bloody whetstones?
I think bloody whetstons are a faction-locked recipe. I forget which faction offhand but you’re not gonna get much done farming for the component itself. Craftable components have an intentionally tiny drop rate.
He’s referring to how long it takes to farm up the serrated spikes required. AFAIK the recipe for bloody whetstone isn’t changing, but expect XPAC mats to require significantly less stuff in the coming patch.
Everything is pretty easy to farm up except bloody whetstone. It took me a ridiculous number of hours to get enough serrated spikes, with a few blessed whetstones from the Isaiah, though he’s so inconsistent with them that it’s hardly worth it to mess with. I don’t even mind if everything takes that long, it’s just weird that bloody whetstone just takes soooo much longer than anything else to farm.
