I know most the abilities now I believe but if I’m guessing I think this is cast speed? It seems to ‘summon’ the daggers…?
Casting Speed. Could be fun with Balegor’s Crusher in 1.1.9.2 as it’s getting 50% Pierce to Acid conversion and 100% weapon damage (from two boomerang hits) is somewhat benefiting from 2h damage.
Cool thanks, that’s what I figured. I wonder why a cast speed stat doesn’t show in-game? Or I’m blind…
Yeah that sounds pretty cool. I was just looking for pierce to acid conversion items…
I finally have a Deception of Dreeg set, so was kind of thinking about what I could do with that, since it looks like a fun set. Gives a ton of cast speed, so thought it might work well with it. Although the set has a weapon in it, so the weapon you linked wouldn’t work.
Man, if they added in something like the RoRG in D3, it would make for some pretty crazy builds, and probably massive power spikes and break the game…
simple way to tell if an attack uses cast speed or attack speed is;
If the attack requires your actual weapon, or gun bullet, to connect with target to trigger, then it’s attack speed
cast speed attacks doesn’t require weapon/bullet to land on target before it triggers/“consumes” your skill cooldown/mana
couple of exceptions ofc like EoR/voracious reach, but otherwise it’s a decent rule to remember
These are not exceptions : )
Just use Dreeg’s Evil Eye with it. It’s very thematic. It even generates eyes floating around you.
they are, because they don’t require your weapons to connect with target to trigger the skill
you can spam/use eor without a target, like forcewave/CT, and it will consume mana just like a cast - but EoR/Voracious Reach scales off attack speed
Ah, ok, I thought this rule was about visual connection (then it kinda works for EoR).
Now I understand it’s about
- requiring target
+
- weapon / bullet attack
yep, take a skill like spam primal strike on a rifle to easily illustrate this
you can shoot your rifle, through LMB (where PS is), and bullets will come out; but you wont consume mana/trigger the skill (no lightning anywhere),
but, the second the bullet hits a target, skill Fx triggers, aswell as mana consumption = attack speed skill
forcewave or callidor’s tempest which are true casts, triggers FX and mana drain immediately even if you just spam it in the middle of nothing = cast speed
EoR/Voracious Reach is then exceptions to this rule, there are couple of others, like Ring of Steel also scaling of attack speed and such, but EoR is the easiest/most significant to keep in mind scales off attack speed despite behaving like ex Callidor
Bloody pox for instance requires a target, but it doesn’t require you to physically connect weapon/bullet with the target, so it’s also a cast
