thats not cool that you click through a quest and all of a sudden your stuck with the blacksmith that you didn’t want. I didn’t buy the game to read everything i understand it has a lot to do with game but it should not be a game changing derision. I feel like i have to reroll my lvl 25 character because i did black smith quest late and got the wrong one for my build.
IMO this should be changed.
I was absolutely loving this game but now that i have to reroll another chacter im kinda dont even want to do it.
One of the biggest features about grim dawn is rerolling characters. And like the poster above me said, you can change your decision in the next difficulty.
In addition to Angrim/Duncan, you will have other Blacksmiths in Homestead and Fort Ikon. It really is not the end of your toon.
But based on this reaction, in Act 2, be sure not to kill a certain Npc by clicking through the dialog if you want a vendor that sells dynamite right next to your spawn location in Homestead.
What. This must be new because I have yet to see this and I don’t recall killing any NPCs in Homestead… I’ll be keeping my eyes open around Homestead now. I’m not one to ignore dialogue or lore either… hmm. Always something new to discover with this game.
The bonuses they give are so small that they have practically no influence on how your char plays. It’s like +3-5% of whatever. When you hover your mouse over the star symbol next to “Combine” you can see what they do.
Angrim is the better one anyway
Elemental resist is so easy to get and the increased elemental damage is insignificant (from Duncan)
On the other hand increased armor from Angrim is actually pretty significant
Wait until he has to decide between Kymon’s Chosen and the Order of Death’s Vigil.
If this is your first toon, then yes you should read through everything. It’ll slow you down somewhat, but the info you need is there and once you have read it you’re unlikely to need to again with other toons.
Like many other RPG’s the choices you make have some consequences. This however isn’t a build breaking one imho. In fact it’s been ages since I’ve seen anyone recommend going with one quest blacksmith over the other for a particular build idea. Did happen a lot when they were first introduced into the game, but not any more.
The npc is in the begining of act 2, before the first rift…he will end up in Homestead as a vendor, if you choose to let him tell his story and live that long.
your blacksmith choice barely matters, especially on the first difficulty. If you make a decision you don’t like, just do it over on elite difficulty. There are a couple of reasons to re-roll a character, but this is not one of them.
I would also advise you to just read, especially since this game isn’t very dialogue-heavy.
