Blade Spirit AI is dumber than Wind Devil

I just reached Blade Spirit on my Trickster and playing Elite right now and I just noticed Blade Spirit doesn’t do the same thing as Wind Devil.

Blade Spirits leash range is shorter and they keep close to you. If you move, they move back to you. It doesn’t work well when you kite and move around.

Meanwhile, Wind Devils seem to have a brain on their own. They will actually go attack mobs that could be half screen away and doesn’t try to come back to you when you summoned them.

The only positive part is that they act like bodyguards, or over an attached person, when the Wind Devils do the nasty job.

Could Blade Spirit get the same AI as Wind Devil ? They have the same mechanics more or less, so I was surprised they weren’t acting the same.

Well, Blade Spirit has a small collision radius, while Wind Devils have none and go through enemies.

I like the way Blade Spirit works, they stay in place while they are hitting someone and only move when they are not hitting anybody. Because of their collision, they are awesome to block enemies on bridges and doorways, making even Nemesis lose a lot of time stuck trying to get past them.

Wind Devils move around trying to reach as many enemies as possible because they have debuffs and DOTs, while Blade Spirit is more about raw damage.

I wouldn’t like Wind Devil AI on Blade Spirit, it would make Blade Spirit positioning less tactical.

This just wants me to make a build using both. It seems like their different behavior would be complementary.
