Blade Spirit + Wind Devil

It looks like a lot of fun. Blade Trap would be great if there was pierce=cold conversion somewhere. There’s a conversion thread somewhere in here, maybe I’ll even remember to check it out later. Circle of Slaughter isn’t doing to much lifting for you… you have both a high dodge chance and a high fumble chance, but to paraphrase someone (Ceno, IIRC) from the TQ forum “If you can dodge, why do you need to stun?”

Basically, I think Blade Trap would be more fun, if the damage converts…

I don’t really play builds with the idea of clearing Crucible at top levels or beating all nemesis bosses. I have like 1,000 hours in the game mostly just playing through the main campaign on Veteran. So I’m like a highly seasoned casual player, and this build looks like a lot of fun. To tickle my own interests, I’d probably add a whole bunch of ‘sky shard’ and freezing procs.

Alternately, I might just say screw it and run with both cold and pierce, trying to stack pierce damage up so RR isn’t necessary.

Sent you a PM xaade. Hope you find it helpful.

@Drokalypso: Pierce to cold conversion needs to come from alkamos rings + Chilling grip of hagarrad.

SOLD!

I’m running a reaper right now, and I know I want a ‘hybrid’ melee and caster. Pretty sure I want to go cold damage, so this is helpful.

Glad I could be of assistance!

Must have saved me at least 15 minutes of searching and reading :):stuck_out_tongue:

That’s what I’m going for. I don’t want to min/max crucible, I don’t even play crucible. And if I can’t get a certain gear, I’ll just roll a cookie cutter that can.

Here’s what I got using the pierce conversion.

Still not happy with point distribution, but it’s way way better than before.

I forgot to mention that I don’t often use melee attacks unless to get some temporary Offensive/Defensive Ability. I actually use the component with Chillspikes to spam ranged attacks which can deal quite a bit of damage.

I was rather surprised to see my highest damage dealt being 240k. I may go over my build a bit to see if I can stack some more resistance reduction with the devotion Rumor.

edit: It’s possible at the expense of getting rid of Crab/Oklaine’s Lantern but you can get Giant’s Blood proc to help offset the lack of arcane barrier + some more health.

edit 2: Just ran through main campaign to find beast nemesis and it doesn’t seem that he heals enough from the blade spirits if at all.

Are you sure about that? While I am not confident enough to directly refute your statement as I don’t have anything more than the empirical to back up my claim, I have seen his HP go up while kiting him as my spirits were in his blood pools.

Blade spirits do have HP after all and can be destroyed. Intuitively, it would make sense for his lifeleech to work on them.

EDIT: How many bladespirits did you have on his monkey ass? I was playing a CDR build, so I had about 6 spirits up. That could explain the difference in life leech?

Usually I just have 3 spirits and 3 wind devils up. I never really noticed the spirits dying at all as I’m doing the whole fire and forget kind of thing. I also have the Nemesis pet as well.

I wouldn’t say that I was paying close attention to his health as I believe my damage output was greater then any life leech he would be dishing out.
