Non-conjurer bleed builds I mean. All because of undead and their resistance.
With just rend and devouring swarm I can get 15K ticks. Most of the time its no ticks on thrash though, since stacking them on thrash requires effort. I had to resume using the gimmick black star of deceit just to be able to deal with them.
Killing undead was a problem before, so why it has to become even harder now?
Bleeding is very strong, but you have to deal with immunity either by reducing resistances or investing in another damage type, wich is more than fair imo.
1 - Bloodrager set is too important now, you will be silly to not use it
2 - manticore or black star of deceit is mandatory if you don’t want 15K ticks top on undead
We can make a test run, can we? Here is my year old pioneer bleeder Violence, went out for the oligarch since he is easy to find, but met something else on the way. She still got to him eventually, at 4:00
Looks like skeleton golems have lower resist than average, that includes Moo. Which is why it is even possible to cheat them from range. Spectres and knights have it higher.
Bleeding is very strong for most nightblade builds. You can do trickster or witch blade and combine the multiple sources of bleed along with the poison resist debuffs with the stuff in the devotion tree that also lower bleed resist and do a fairly powerful bleed oriented build.
The thing that I feel is lacking right now is vitality decay which is only located on second rite for the occultist and I think one other skill. I made a post about bloodpox and a few changes I would like to see made which would add another source of vitality decay. Most classes as I’m sure you know have 2 primary damage dot types and 1 minor which you can do builds around and the list is below.
You can make dot focused builds if you combine some of those properly such as a electrocute/frostburn druid or a burn/electrocute Elementalist.
As far as bleed goes if you want a very strong bleed setup you can do battlemaster they have a good physical damage/resistance while also having very very high bleed damage. A battle master doesn’t have much bleed resistance reduction outside of the devotion tree but it doesn’t stop it from being extremely powerful if you build it right.
I originally wanted to focus on bleed but found that it’s much better to focus on 2 dot types and build around those and the rest of the damage is just minor damage types that add a little extra on top.
Um, people, the thread is about bleed builds relationship with undead and other bleed immunes after recent nerfs.
This is pretty old news anyway.
Regarding the video above, can you imagine clearing SOT with that? I bet you would stop at floor 1 and go do something else. Not that I went there very often with a bleeder, it always felt like poking your weapons into a brick wall, even in 1.000-002. But it was at least feasible. Violence procured the notes for Diala quest from SOT somehow, and they are on the final floor.
Most importantly, this trickster setup does not work the way it is intended to work. With just devouring swarm and rend you won’t kill anything in that area. You have to resort to chaos and poison related gimmicks to be able to. There was no need to do so in 1.007 and shouldn’t be
Other areas that might test yout patience with bleed is BOC. The Obsidian Ravagers and all their variations ar very resistant to Bleed.
And you are right bloodrager is mandatory now. Bloodfury splauders are pretty neat because of flat bleed damage on it. Works well with DW and % weapon damage procs. Murderer’s Cowl also derserves a look for DW due to flat bleed. Trick is to get decent affixes.
Also i’d replace the nerfed vileblood with bloodrager shoulders. It feels squishy. You have more than enough health. DA? With Totem you should be able to stand in front of moose long enough to stack all your bleeds effectively.
