so I am playing my pure cunning blademaster build focusing on proccing as many rings of steel as I can. I seem to have run into a bug or an issue with the damage notation on the attribute screen. I am using a bloodborn sabre and a servitor slicer. My damage reads 2984. I checked the second tab and it lists all my damages as per usual. When I tried a different weapon a dermapteran slicer without the blessed whetstone the damage per second was 10k+ in the equipped hand. So I put a blessed whetstone on it and the DPS has dropped back to 2984. The damage of both weapons is equivalent but when I mouse over the slicer it says I can increase my damage by 8211 per second if I switch. So I switch, my damage is still 2984 but when I mouse over my sabre now it says my damage can increase in my equipped slot by 7412. Here is the build for reference;
So I checked with some low level weapons and it is saying that it will boost my damage more than the level 50 sabre with the damage I am focusing on on it. I checked a level 31 yellow weapon without whetstone on it and it says it will boost my DPS 7000+ DPS. Also when attacking enemies with basic attacks it is only registering the 2984 damage.
not sure if i understand the situation, but here’s some random bits of information that might be helpful:
ring of steel uses only the main hand weapon for its % weapon damage scaling passive bonuses of the offhand (such as % pierce damage or a +2 to ring of steel) can still affect it, but the dps of the offhand doesn’t have any effect on it.
you have about 700% bonus to pierce damage and only 70% or so to physical, so any point of damage you convert from phys > pierce will be about 10 times more valuable
you run the blades of nadaan constellation that doubles the armor piercing of the weapon. dermapteran slicers have native 50% armor piercing, so the constellation already gets them to 100%.
a weapon with 100% piercing conversion will give you much higher dps than a weapon with less than 100%. the bloodborn sabre with the whetstone will only have 75% conversion (30% * 2.5) and maybe also a lower base damage, so the difference in dps could actually be realistic.
don’t know that happens to the 50% bonus from the whetstone when you slap that onto the derm. slicer. maybe it does something funky and actually reduces it when the value is > 100%. the component is useless on a slicer anyway, since the main feature of it is the added pierce conversion which wouldn’t have any effect on a weapon that already has 100%.
