Just had this happen, stopping my Shattered Realm run:
The way forward is blocked by the tentacle and it’s impossible to squeeze through. There are no other alternate routes. Can’t even cash out the run and just have to quit… Sucks to be me I guess 
The souls behind the tentacle that would be sufficient to fill up the progress bar are just a cherry on top of this “poop” cake. So close, yet so far.
Gonna have to run all the shards again because I can’t even collect the Waystone blueprint.
