Blood Plague bleeds out my summon army + one other minor thing

Hi!

So… I thought to try a summoner build. Everything was nice and dandy until I fought a Ghoul and it gave me and some of my summons the ‘Bloody Plague’ curse that does bleeding damage.
The problem is that the curse bounces back and forth between my summons and me and we all just slowly die.
I came here after the second time I got it, so I haven’t tried any solutions or maybe I just don’t know.
The only thing is to wait for most of my summons to die until it stops bouncing it seems.
Is it supposed to happen like that? It looks like a loop hole, so I thought to ask here.

As I’m already writing here, I thought to mention one other thing.
When using ‘Pet Attack’ on an enemy, it doesn’t override the command if I already used it to move them on a spot. When commanding them to move to another spot while moving, it overrides, but not when commanded to attack an enemy.
So what happens is that I move them in front of me, command them to attack, but they just keep on running to the last pointed spot.

Thank you in advance for any feedback on those ‘problems’!

Welcome to the forums!

It’s hard to give specific advice without seeing your build, but in general pet resistances are pretty vital to keeping pets alive late game. There are a number of good sources of pet bleed resistance: Ishtak, Wolverine, and Typhos constellations, Emboldening Presence (if you’re using Shaman), Ateph’s Will ring/amulet augment, and “of Caged Souls” suffix on armor.

Thank you!

It’s not that my summons die too much because of low resistances or something. I mean… they die even faster when they get sprayed by the Poisonous Bloom’s acid and poison and so on.
It’s that the plague infection bounces back and forth between my summons and character and just keeps on damaging. Right now i’m on Veteran, but I already fear I won’t be able to survive Elite and Ultimate. Even if I would survive one infection, I won’t be able to survive the continuous re-infections that bounce back all the time, even with maximum resistances (by “I” I mean the summoner itself).
I have no problem with the difficulty of the game, it just feels like it’s not supposed to do that, that’s all. It has happened only twice on Veteran as we speak, so it’s not like a mayor issue or anything. I just wondered if it’s normal and I should deal with it or is it something that should be looked at.

Bloody Plague sounds like a skill similar to Bloody Pox in the Occultist mastery (among some others). It works like a contagion that spreads on it’s own. As you have a group of pets, they will be getting infected with it and it will spread to you or vice versa as you described until the timer on it runs out.

Edit: Yep. The above is right:

The only things you can do are try and tank through the damage by making you and/or your pets resistant to it like sigatrev said or use a skill like Cleansing Waters to remove it from you and your pets (though it could be reapplied by the same enemy). I’d recommend looking at options for increasing Bleed resistance or healing your pets over relying on removing the debuff personally.
