Heya, this is my first build I’m publishing as I have yet to see anyone else post a Mystic Bloodlust build. I will be editing this frequently intitially to make it look much nicer and full of details. Until then please bear with me.
So, the Bloodlust set has many advantages and is commonly used with Reaver. However I was particularly interested in focusing more on bleeding and quite like how the set benefits Solael’s Witchfire. Given Curse of Frailty’s ability to significantly reduce Bleeding damage as well, coupled with the buffs the set gives I felt it would be fun to focus entirely on that.
The key components: Bloodlust Set (duh), Pit Master’s Axe, Direwolf Crest, Avatar of Justice, Crimson Claws.
Pit Master’s Axe, as of the 1.3 update, was changed to focus more on Bleeding Damage. Given the Onslaught one of the two pimary damage abilities, it makes sense to buff it up quite significantly. Adding on 15% Weapon damage, and giving +2 to both Onslaught and Open Wounds. However the Axe, being an axe grants us access to the Berserker devotion which adds more bleeding damage. On top of it all it is a Green weapon, allowing us to get the Plaguebearer’s prefix which gives us 24 reduced resistances.
The Direwolf Crest is important because it benefits both bleeding and pierce damage. This build relies heavily on Life Steal, so having enough pierce damage is important while we face tank. Additionally it gives an important WPS (Weapon pool skill) for additional bleed damage and getting closer to 100% WPS rate.
Avatar of Justice is seems minor but is incredibly potent in the build. As Onslaught builds up charges, we utilize that on our big hitter, Leap. While similar builds would rely on other abilities like Ring of Steel, we have to use Leap because our only other choices for large hitting abilities are Doombolt, Sigil of Consumption, and Focused Gaze Dreeg’s Evil Eye. Given those three have no weapon damage applied to them nor do they have bleeding bonuses, Leap was the only acceptable ability. The AoJ amulet gives Leap 80% weapon damage which adds 26% additional damage to Leap (at 21 points) before the Onslaught stacks are consumed. Finally it adds even more bleeding damage to Solael’s Witchfire.
Crimson Claws is impressive in Bloodfangs builds because it adds flat bleeding damage, life steal, attack speed, and useful defensive bonuses.
The other Monster Infrequent items, focus more on supplementing resistances and boosting defenses. In the calculator, the rings are fairly vague as for the most part they are not too important for resistances, namely used for the %Defensive and %Offensive Ability increases on Magic Prefixes, while the Affixes can be used for whatever else. Additional bleeding damage is always nice but it allows for more freedom.
The leggings and Belt, it is important to have a suffix that gives Chaos Resistance. As without those, your Chaos Res will be quite low. The belt is difficult to farm so this is more ideal. While gearing up, I utilize the crafted Kurn belt and rolled until I got Bloodletter’s.
If you do not have the Prefix of Plaguebearer’s on your Pit Master’s Axe, you can swap out Amatok’s Grip with Malediction.
In total this build grants you -145% Bleeding Resistance with over 20,000 bleeding damage on a basic attack.
