Blueprint Farming - Seal of Annihilation blueprint

I am looking for a Seal of Annihilation blueprint, a level 75 legendary item. After reviewing the forums, I decided a good way to farm for it was to farm Nemesis in ultimate. I chose Fabius because I’m familiar with all his possible locations. With 100 kills I found 7 blueprints and 47 legendarys, none that were level 75 (all were higher). Returning to the forums I found someone who had a similar problem and said that to get level 75 items you must farm Elite nemesis so I switched to Elite. After 50 kills, I found 0 Blueprints and only 16 Legendarys but the items were in the range I was looking for.

At this point it seems unlikely (impossible?) for me to find this item. It seems Crate has designed the blueprint system to be one of diminishing returns. That is, the more you find, the harder it is to find more. Apparently, I’ve reached the point where my return is effectively “0” regardless of the effort I make.

Since I find it hard to believe that’s Crate’s intent, I’m open to the possibility there’s another way that I’m missing. Any ideas or suggestions on how to find this item would be most welcome.

Seal of Annihilation is not a legendary item, but a component - we could say a rare component. It’s best to farm it at level ~80, but it will drop at the same rate even at level 100. You just don’t have many blueprints, therefore you’re getting the more common ones and not SoA.

If you’re not dropping many legendaries nor blueprints, run Steps of Torment or make another character and just leave the current one behind till you get some more blueprints/legendaries.

When I first played the game, I farmed much with my first (actually second) character till I got some items, then I made another character and meantime farmed for few hours with the character that already beat the game. I got my Seal of Annihilation when my other character was level ~95 and after ~200 hours spent into the game.

In my experience doing rougue like dungeons in a group of 4 people on ultimate ist a verrrry good way to get legendaries and blueprints fast-er.

But at the end of the day, it´s RNG. So: good luck! :stuck_out_tongue:

Due to a mess up on my part, i lost all my blueprints (last month) and have been ever since trying to find them back.

Went to all vendors, including the more hidden ones, and bought all blueprints they had: that didn’t cost so little, btw.

I’ve been farming challenger Crucible ever since and i get around 1 - 2 blueprints per run now (100 - 150, then 130 to 150 and finally 130 to 150 again) but i used to get 4 - 5 per run when i started farming. This is on top of the legendary items, ofc.

The reason i don’t do it in gladiator instead is because i fail too many times in this difficulty and because it’s much faster in challenger, thus more efficient.

Thanks for your comments & suggestions.

USER_NAME_1, does farming Steps of Torment give a better probability of a BP drop than farming nemesis? I’m getting a pretty good drop rate of legendaries by farming nemesis - around 50%. At least I’m happy with that. And the BPs are dropping around 10% (but unfortunately still going down), just no level 75s. Perhaps I have to get all the higher level BPs before the lower levels start dropping?

It seems that farming nemesis in ultimate doesn’t drop anything below 84 for me. This eliminates the possibility of having SoA drop. But when farming nemesis in elite the drop level zone is good but no BPs drop for me and the probability of a legendary drop is poor.

HTC, what level of items drop when you farm challenger Crucible? Is there a probability of getting a level 75 drop or is it all high level items?

tsuelue, I assume when running with a group drop probabilities go up, which is good. But would I experience the same issue I’m currently facing? That is, running ultimate would produce only high level drops not a level 75? I’ve only ever run solo and it might be hard to find others to run with, especially if I need to run elite rather than ultimate.

Well, it’s been this way for a long time. It’s hard to read intent in these design decisions I admit, but it appears to me that it’s indeed they way they want it. Diminishing returns are a feature, not a bug or even an unintended side effect. If they were they would have long since been changed to something more forgiving. There have been a few small changes over the years but honestly those were just enough to compensate for the ever increasing pool of blueprints. It’s still as hard to find those last few handfuls of them as it ever was.

I’ve been getting from lvl 60 relic to lvl 94 head blueprints plus the occasional lower lvl blueprint. I’m still missing several low lvl relics (lvl 25 / 35 that i couldn’t buy from vendors) and allot of other epic / legendary blueprints. Perhaps even some component ones, but i already found the one you’re looking for: i’ve checked.

If i don’t manage to find those lower lvl relics in challenger, i’m considering trying crucible in aspirant: perhaps that way i can find them.

I find just farming treasure troves to be the most efficient for blueprints. I rarely get blueprints from kills. Just do the Mountain Deeps run (Treasure Trove + Ikrix and some random bosses along the way) for an hour or 2 and the blueprints should be dropping almost every single time (unless you already have most of them).

I find this run really efficient. You are killing a boss (Ikrix), farming his somewhat decent MI (Ikrix Scale), getting boss tier spoils and opening a treasure trove. Each run takes just a few minutes depending on how many enemies you kill along the way and wether or not the random generation blocks the shortest pathways.

Collected most of the relevant blueprints I was missing this way and got a decent amount of legendary items along the way.

HTC – thanks for the info, I’ll give Crucible a try. I’ve tried to avoid it because I find Crucible soooo boring. I thought Hyram in Steelcap provided the ability to purchase all low level relics. But maybe it’s only the Transcendent and not the Empowered ones.

CaiusMisus – I’ve not farmed Treasure Troves because I thought they were the same drop rates as nemesis which I’ve been running for weeks. I’ll give your route a try and see what happens. Also, I need to upgrade my Vitality Ritualist’s Bonespike and it’s a good farming area for that as well.

Nemesis chest has a 100% chance to drop a blueprint (it can and often will still roll one you already had and drop nothing though) while a treasure trove has a chance but not a particularly high one, not sure on the exact number. Nemesis farming is the much more effective way in my opinion.

Don’t know the exact droprates, but since they increased the number of possible blueprint rerolls, they have been dropping like flies from the troves. You also have the benefit of troves having a few set locations (it is easy to check all the spots fast). In the time it takes you to find and kill a single Nemesis, you can do multiple Mountain Deeps runs. There are other convenient troves, but the fastest one I found is in the Mountain Deeps and it has the major benefit of Ikrix always being close to a trove spawn point. Just be sure to have a lot of dynamite handy.

And yes, bonewalls and bonespikes galore. You will be drowning in them.

I would also recommend this - Treasure trove guide - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=660379177
I already memorized the locations so don’t need it anymore but has been very helpful to me initially.

NOTE: There are a few locations missing in the guide, which were probably added in a later game update (Mountain Deeps for example has 4 spawn locations AFAIK).

According to this, it has five spawn locations.

Did 3 runs yesterday to test it out and indeed, it’s quite fast but these runs yielded zero blueprints. I did however got rare components like ugdenblooms and blood of ch’thons.

Perhaps i was just unlucky need a higher run number.

It is important to note that I was running it on Ultimate. Not sure what difficulty you are on, but on Ultimate, the blueprints were dropping fairly regularly. I’d wager that 70% of all my blueprints were from troves. Some of them I bought and the rest actually dropped (20% at best).

I was also on ultimate. Perhaps i was just unlucky and need a much higher “sampling number”. 3 runs is quite a low number.

Leech Crucible games 150-170 you’ll get quite a few that way too aside from that farm other nemesis’s. Blue prints are a pain in the rear for sure. I’ve posted several times how annoyed I am with the system—-still missing some myself!

Blueprints are indeed a royal pain in the as*, once you have most of them.

You basically have 3 choices at this point:

  1. Revamp the build for what you have found to this point and keep the original idea in the back of your mind for later.

  2. Commit to countless hours to get that rng roll. Keep in mind that at this point, it is similar odds to getting a green with a specific top suffix/prefix - that kind of time investment.

  3. Use mod to give it to yourself. (this is pretty common for guide builders, actually).

Edit: oh, and the other option is to get it in Multiplayer (trade or get someone to make it for you).

Seems a little presumptuous, no?

Seems a little presumptuous, no?

I suppose it is.

Anyways, the point is that as a mostly single-player game, there are a number of options to fit your goals.

Yes, they totally farm thunderstruck of kings nemesis pants for every single character legit.
