They usually do. There was even a bug report of having 1 cow only who produced a calf every year. 
Well, I’ve had 2 cows in my barn for at least 5 years and haven’t had a single offspring yet. Then that will probably be a bug for me, because I know that there are cows every year, I just thought maybe there must be a minimum number of cows so that they can reproduce at all
I usually only buy 2 and they reproduce.

then it’s already a known bug, I hadn’t discovered anything of the sort in the bug reports, so opened a new thread for it, thanks for the info
