40 and 30 are 33% difference in dps.

Cally, I admit that skeletons perform bad against Cally, but what does this prove?
It means skeletons are bad? Don’t forgot dot (bleed) also perform better against super bosses but worse against SR and Crucible, as you have enough time to stack more dot on super bosses. Skeletons have higher dps, Briarthorns are more tanky.
It means not kill all content? why don’t you play SR 80. It is also part of all content. Ghol Ritualist SR 60 (hardcore) and non-set Ritualist SR 80 (hardcore)
Expand the scope of discussion, not only pet. Many builds cannot beat Cally. Are they all bad builds in your theory?
And, some of them are not completely unable to cope with Cally. They can sacrifice damage to exchange survival. Just during most of the game time, no need to do this exchange. Cally and other super bosses only count very small part of game time. SR and Crucible are much more. Higher dps and moderate survival version are more comfortable for most time.
Therefore, my standards of builds will consider more of SR 30-31 and Crucible, but not Cally or killing all content.
