Bug - Cannot launch game from Steam - 0.7.4

I attempt to launch the game from within the Steam client. The Crate logo appears, then a black screen with an error dialog window that says “Please launch Farthest Frontier via your steam client.”.

This appears to occur when launching the game when Steam is not connected to the internet. This game should not require Steam to be connected to the internet.

Have you chosen the Go Offline option in Steam?

I am having this problem as well, and I am not Offline in Steam!

Verify the game files and make sure all drivers are up to date. See if that helps.

I can get into the game when launching from Steam, but it crashes when I try to load a New Game. So Running as Admin was my next hope, but it doesn’t let me!

So far I’ve tried the following:

  • Uninstalling/reinstalling Steam
  • Verify game files
  • Toggle V-Sync
  • Reduce refresh rate to 50Hz
  • Start with small sized map

Using a new PC that was gifted to me, just found out my graphics card is:

Intel HD Graphics 3000

Edit: I just ran a graphics card driver software thingy and it says I have:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

Is this not good enough to run the game/could this be the issue?

Your hardware is not the issue. There is a bug causing the game to crash out, seemingly randomly, although I thought perhaps it was just with a large map/population to load. Sometimes a save will load, sometimes it won’t. More often then not, it does load.
