Build Advice Request: Making Panetti Proud (Missile Warlock)

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been able to find any builds that lean in this direction, and I’m a little short on clues. As it stands:

I have a warlock, and I want my warlock to use Panetti’s Replicating Missiles as thoroughly and effectively as possible.
That’s the entirety of my goal. I want to Magic Missile the darkness like it’s never been missiled before.

Beyond the obvious use of the missile’s direct-line talents and the Curse of Frailty/Vulnerability, I have utterly no idea where it’s best to put points to serve this goal.

The current theoretical skill build is http://grimcalc.com/build/pMKqHo at the moment. Please advise.

i was actually going to be making one of these as soon as i get a Blood Orb of Ch’thon

That one item makes a perfect synergy for a Chaos/Aether PRM build. Would be rather amazing if you ask me.

Edit: get you a bunch of Shattered Reality gear … you could make one heck of a Warlock… Still no Orb for me yet. I have a level 60 Warlock waiting for it =(

I’m starting to get a feel for the skill points on the calculator.

No clue on the devotions yet.

I’ll have a calculator link in a bit.

This is more or less the build I am/was using: http://grimcalc.com/build/vHANag

I haven’t had a chance to look into devotion changes yet.

Using Clairvoyant set and Aldanar’s Vanity to keep up devastation where most of the damage is actually coming from.

The problem with blood orb is that you might get a bit more damage out of PRM, but you will gimp the availability of devastation, which does insane damage.

The problem with warlock is that it is a bit harder to face tank and make good use of Aggrivix as opposed to battlemage. I made it into ultimate without much trouble, but the playstyle was making me a bit too anxious so I have shelved it for a bit. If I took more than a couple of hits I was probably dead. Is probably a little bit worse now.

Don’t hold your breath, you will just realize how hard it is to reduce chaos resistance and that you were actually doing more damage with the elemental setup. Tbh, the aether skills in the PRM tree are infinitely better, the elemental one is a dump skill when you have maxed everything else.

As I said in the other thread, you would be better off going Battlemage (Aldanar’s vanity + refresh reductions from caster gear + fighting spirit = awesome, and then there are all of the soldier defensive passives) and focusing on aether.

If you want a warlock, use Dreeg’s evil eye and just take Inner focus, Sphere, Elemental balance and Mental alacrity from the arcanist tree. Poison/acid and vitality resistance are much easier to debuff and the base damage of Vile eruption alone is quite insane.

So, currently I’m imagining a skill point distribution something like this. http://grimcalc.com/build/pMKqHo

I’ll be hiding behind some more melee focused characters most of the time, so I won’t need to face tank so much, and the 20% heal is probably more than enough to supplement potions while I’m running for my life from anything that slips past them, at least coupled with curse of frailty.

Thoughts?
