Build concept - Shotgun Commando - Beronath + Stun jack

In light of the new Beronath sword, I looked around for the best physical build. And I just found out that Full Spread has the highest trauma damage when converted. We are looking at nearly 1000 trauma damage at 12/12 full spread, and Stun Jack can shot gun for quite a bit of damage as well

So I cook up this build http://www.grimtools.com/calc/D2pmMLVq

Sadly I’m away from my computer until Monday so I can’t test this build :frowning:

It looks pretty good in theory, with decent physical bonus and OA + DA

Any comments would be appreciated. If anyone can test this for me that would be great as well

BTW the elemental storm deals nearly 500 trauma damage when converted as well, so it’s good

-Siegebreaker is the right choice for Trauma. I use it as well otherwise reflection would be a pain
-Trauma still lacks duration and you lack sources
-Physical Jacks is nice but you using the wrong gear and need something like Ulzuin’s Chosen otherwise you’re damage won’t be as good. If you don’t want Chosen then you need a crapton of procs.
-For Physical Jacks imo a Pyromancer would be better atleast in terms of damage

You were wasting a lot of odd points. One offs in Fire Strike? Why? You shouldn’t be aiming to be in melee for your attacks, you should be kiting. One offs in Flashbang just make a waste of energy, 2-2 is barely anything. Go all in or stay out. Over-guard? What the hell for? You won’t need it anywhere outside of a boss fight… Where all the attacks are telegraphed, and your ranged casting character should be avoiding them with ease. Your ring choice was also… No idea why those were in there. Nor what you were doing with your Devotions, or Blitz. Again, you don’t WANT to be near the monsters, you want to be AWAY from them. Those two greens also make the build seriously hard to gear up for, but I’m going to assume you have them, somehow, and thus can plan for such things.

Avenger is a good option, but considering your conversion, and the fact that all your offensive skills are in Demo… Annihilation seems a better choice, the granted skill would fit neatly in your CDR playstyle this would be going for, and do good damage.

Has more:
Health
OA, even before Fighting Spirit and Sealed Fate
Health Regen
Energy Regen
+1 Demo Skills
Sealed Fate proc
Better Grenado

Loses:
Overguard
A little Physical and Internal Trauma %s
Your 20% Duration for Trauma
Blitz
Blackwater Cocktail
About a hundred DA standing, but it gains more the second Sealed Fate goes off.
A little Poison and Cold res

Concept wasn’t bad, just very odd execution. I might try a Stun Jacks Beronath myself at some point. Without the impossibly good greens, of course.

EDIT: Almost forgot, you gain the Meteor skill as well.

This’d be more how I go about it. Though it’s worth noting, I AM assuming you wanted CDR Stun Jacks, not Quick Jacks, since you didn’t take the transmuter.

Markovian Proc should help make up for the lack of an offhand’s CDR, and it’s fairly tanky. It’s a CDR, DOT build… It’s really not going to be standing still for a prolonged tanking, or doing constant damage. Just spikes, with a DOT presumably finishing things off.

My control is pretty bad so I will stick with the more tanky option.

I did some adjustment http://www.grimtools.com/calc/qNYxAeZ6

With added Ulzuin chosen I think that’s pretty good. Grenado + Full Spread + Elemental storm would be my sources.

I think with the level 100 expansion this build would have more choices, the skill points are pretty tight right now

Precisely why I am not playing at the moment and also because this patch makes me believe the expansion is right around the corner (and I’m convinced I am not living in a circle:p)

Nice idea.

As others have said, Ulzuin’s Chosen builds are very point-starved. I would go 50/32 Demo/Occultist or Demo/Nightblade for a physical stun-jacks build.

I would also consider Canister Bomb, which does a ton of Burn/Trauma damage now.

21% less incoming damage from bosses is barely anything?

Thought about those, but those combos are quite squishy (for me) so I’m willing to forgo some damage just to be able to bring my build to crucible
