Build tier list?

I know we have the build compendium and that’s nice and all, but I’d really like it if some of you veterans to make a tier list for each patch.
There are tons of builds on the forums and it’s impossible to know which ones are good or not.

I propose that people who have a lot of experience and frequent the forums make a sticky for a tier list. Just something general like 3 tiers, for top tier, viable, and just for fun builds. And it could be pretty short, like “cold spellbreaker”, it wouldn’t have to be detailed because people could look up a cold spellbreaker if they wanted to play it.
And of course it wouldn’t have to include every build, just the top tier and tier 2. And tier 3 could be added just to let people know if a build archetype is viable or not.

I’d do it myself but I have no experience, I don’t have crucible and I don’t have enough patience to take a character to ultimate :rolleyes:

I recall a thread asking for this and didn’t go well. I think it ended up being locked in the end, but i’m not sure.

The problem with tier lists in this game is that no one will ever agree on what build is best because even just one piece of gear or one constellation can drastically change the strength of a build.

TLDR - Tier lists make some people sensitive about their builds. Also, they’re apparently not needed if the build poster just does a good job in the first place of being detailed on what their build can or can’t do. If they don’t take the time to properly indicate in the guide the power level of the build, they probably wouldn’t take the time to classify it in a tier properly either.
