Are there some builds that focus investing on spirit to deal damage? Preferably with performance that matches or exceed standard non spirit builds.
Literally in the frontpage lol.
And its a meme build. You can do a much better version not chasing spirit
Chasing spirit, and to a somewhat lesser extent cunning (gives OA too at least), is generally a poor choice in building. Especially sense you’ve greatly limited your defensive options. Which makes you super glassy and/or prevents key offensive items/devotions from being used.
I focused spirit in this build as well to squeeze out a small amount more dps, since defensively more DA or hp isn’t required. http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77278. Unfortunately the returns on spirit are not that great. But if you are deadset on it, any iskandra’s set mage hunter is going to be your best bet for a starting point.
That build also is a tactician, which far better supports elemental damage than arcanist does sadly…
People mostly use physique as they feel it is a more beneficial stat. But honestly physique is just like cunning and spirit, you only need it to reach gear requirements. Once that is met feel free to put your points in what ever stat you want.
Certainly for the main campaign this holds true, but in crucible (and most likely high levels of the new mode shattered realm) the extra defensive stats can be invaluable. Especially for builds lacking a decent souretof DA from skills or devotions
Interesting build. Thanks for sharing.
A good point there. Essential offensive items/devotions are much more preferable than maximizing cunning/spirit. Though that also makes people think maximizing physique is almost necessary if you want optimal performance. I want to see some creative builds that can focus on spirit with adequate performance and survivability, at least to see if focusing on spirit can be viable for some builds.
Not bad, I would prefer more attack variations if it can be done. RoH is powerful. But only relying on it as main attack seems awkward and dull.
When I met all atb requirements for my items, I prefer to put the remaining points to physique for safety. But maybe its different for people who prefer to max offense and like risks.
Due to absurd inflation of %dmg in builds every point in spirit is a waste. It could be a different story if %dmg gain from gear and devotions weren’t that high, but, well, I doubt it would change in GD.
yeah. i guess attributes effectiveness can’t beat item and devotion’s power.
this reminds me of torchlight 2. Armor and elemental resist scaling is flat in that game. which means they are useless in mid to late elite difficulties. They’re completely outmatched by %all damage reduction, +health, %chance to reflect missile, %chance to dodge and %chance to block.
thats an example of bad scaling system and diminishing return/number inflation.
Ah, the halcyon days of an Asphyx set filled entirely with 5% damage reduction skulls.
That’s another thing bugging me. skull of limoany that gives 5% all damage reduction, the most essential stat to survive in elite can only drop very rarely from blue chests/rock/plank on the lvl range of around 55-65 (don’t remember exactly) especially in early ng+ areas.
I’m glad GD doesn’t force ultimate players to suffer the same fate of every ng+ elite torchlight 2 players. Thank you crate for providing many choices to min-maxing.
