Just started and followed a guide for soldier I read and invested about 25 mastery in soldier using predominantly cadence and blitz.
I then decided it might be cool to have a he’ll hound and secondaried occultist and invested enough mastery to unlock he’ll hound which at the minute hits like a wet noodle.
The character is about level 25 and wondering what I need to do… Persevere with he’ll hound or do something different.
Big problem might be I’ve been stacking cunning.
Any tips appreciated as would like to continue on this one just now before s new alt.
At the minute I’m still trying to figure out the game - and just want a viable build so I can figure out what I need to do and become more efficient from there
You should be good, but stop putting points in cunning. Do you have points in fighting form yet? You could do that (or switch to blade arc) and get some points in Curse of Frailty for the bleed and physical resist debuff. That will carry you a long way. Add in some points in Solael’s for the attack speed. Occultist is a good support mastery for melee. Further up the tree, check out Blood of Dreeg, which is a nice heal that also boosts offense and health regeneration.
It might work if you are going for a physical/fire/chaos melee build. The hellhound gives you Hellfire and a convenient way to use Eldritch Fire as a debuff from the Solael’s Witchblade constellation. You can think of your hellhound as a buffer/debuffer.
You have to understand that pets are not going to be a reliable damage source without +pet damage gear/skills, and that means going hybrid summoner. I don’t think that’s a good idea for a class like Witchblade, you’ll need more knowledge of game mechanics for that combination to work.
