There are just some demolitionist skills that I’m just 100% sure on how they work going off the desciptions alone they are -
Flame Touched + Temper - These increase damage to your attacks + and those of your allies… but do they also do the descibed damage as retaliation to enemies that hit you?
Fire Strike + Explosive Strike -Does the area of effect for Explosive Strike just use the damage stated in Explosive Strike or Fire Strike as well?
Finally… Vindictive Flame - the damage stated is only applied via retaliation against enemy hits, right? Also the increase in total speed is this in movement + attack speed? It seem many people invest 1 point in this from what I see, why is this?
I’m having trouble understanding your questions possibly due to your wording.
Retaliation damage is it’s own unique stat. +%Fire/lightning bonuses do not affect retaliation. However - Grim Calc is not up to date and Temper does actually have +%All Retaliation damage which means bonus points into temper will increase the retaliation damage of yourself and your allies. etc. Of course for the stat to be worthwhile you at least need to have some flat retaliation damage.
The Aoe effect on Explosive Strike only uses the damage listed on Explosive strike. That is correct. The initial hit however will strike with both “fire strike+explosive strike” making it worthwhile for melee builds.
It’s total speed. It buffs everything, attack/movement/cast speed. It’s ridiculously good. But people don’t like the damage output from Vindictive Flame itself which is why you see a tonne of builds with low investment. I max it on all my builds and have no regrets. The damage stated in VF is not boosted via retaliation damage, but the skill itself will only trigger if you’ve been hit. (Confusing I know). In other words - the bonuses on Flame Touched will increase the damage output of Vindictive Flame. The bonuses on Temper will increase the physical damage bonuses as well on Vindictive Flame but the +%All retaliation will not do anything for Vindictive Flame.

That’s my 2-handed commando. The movement speed on it is a lot of fun. Before you really had to gear up for it. Decent attack speed as well thanks to VF.
