Canister Bomb Fire/Burn Caster?

With BWC+transmuter and flashbang. With pierce to fire conversion from ammy or helm? Can it work?

I was thinking more of Sorcerer line, but it seems like Sorcerer would probably be better with CoT or even Devastation than Canister Bomb. Like Jovs triple Devestation.

Mainly i would like a tanky/kiting build that uses BWC and CB as main skills with items that buff those. I don’t think it has gear support though. When Crate made items that give skills effects its sort of limited builds in a way.

Use exactly this combo on CT Sorc. No devastation though. They are more for burn dmg and proccing stuff.

if you go for canister bomb and BWC you should had grenado also,since most gear that willbuff canister bomb will on grenado aswell but yeah no doubt for JoV sorcerer or “triple devastation” but then its just another idea and build,

just know that canister/BWC/grenado build works, the purifier i gave you link works really well and was quite impressed since i was expecting low results, and clearls main campaign really fast and sure can be crucible viable ona more defensive set up,

assuming this, i have no doubt it willwork very wellas commando(whynot with shield, saw athread recently about that too),
same goes for sorcerer, again reading the linked thread, chthon talked about it, imsure youllfind usefull infos.

if you wanna play BWC with devastation just stick to build JoV cause youll just tend and end on it

I would prefer BWC+Canister Bomb, no grenado. With items that buff both these skills as a pair, it seems like I can only have 1 of these buffed with current itemization. I don’t like that Grenado is always added in with Canister Bomb even though I know it makes sense considering Ulzuin’s Chosen, this is why I’m not really a fan of items that massively improve the effects of skills, as they become to good to pass up effectively pigeonholing builds… AKA Diablow 3 sets

lookover the thread on this part of forum i saw a nice canister bomb burn focused commando,with shield,(using cindercore pistol ?) no doubt it would work as sorcerer too
and yeah going CT for burn would worth it,
going for grenado in addition is great dmg output help, i dont know where s the issue with it, youshould link a grimtool or something,
you have many choices to get your burn dmg and options as sorcerer but at the end you wont be able to get all skills anyway, mine is obvious i think :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried to build around cindercore with canister and grenado one pointer with shattered blast. And didn’t like it, damage turned on the low side, clearing too slow. A commando with that pistol feels lacking something significant. Adding another big source of burning damage boosts 100K DOT to 110K, then adding another boosts that to 120K etc. At that point it might be more efficient to add 15-20% RR but I’m not sure where to get it without gutting +skills and resists.

A better weapon for burning build is warpfire (ya don’t say), 15% RR and 200% duration are hard to beat. And you can use the granted skill from Korvaak’s deception with it for both mobility and DOT.

All that trauma from canister needs to be converted to burn, warpfire lacks conversion unfortunately but you can still get ~50%.

I’ve tried a full-burn Canister Bomb build and found it rather lackluster, borderline or outright not fun. The 8 second cooldown is just such a long time in practice, and Ulzuin’s Chosen doesn’t help given that the CDR doesn’t stack (because >100% CDR doesn’t do anything). You can get the cooldown down to 3.5 seconds with flat reductions alone, which is still a fairly long time given that 1.2-1.4 second Doom Bolts or Forcewaves are easily possible. And even if you do get it there, your damage will be abysmal so why even bother?

It’s a shame there’s so much Pierce -> Fire and +Flat Fire skillmods for CB, as such stats are largely irrelevant when they are applied so infrequently.

So let’s say in addition to these two items, you get 40% CDR, which is not hard with Star Pact.

(8-1.5-1.5)*(1-0.4) = 3 seconds

Just 10/10 Ulzuin’s Chosen gives you a 30% chance of double-casting.

And Time Dilation will let you reliably double-cast 33% of the time (with these items; 50% without).

So maybe it’s not that terrible. But from a QoL perspective it’s still annoying to constantly monitor the hotbar to see if Ulzuin’s Chosen triggered. At least with TD there’s a sort of rhythm to it. And there’s also the damage issue, like you said.

Maybe CB’s cooldown can be reduced to 6 seconds, with the aforementioned items reducing cooldown by 1 second instead of 1.5 seconds. Fleshwarped Incinerator could be reduced from 2 to 1.5 seconds. This helps newbies and veterans alike.
