Carson's adventures (commando 2-handed melee forcewave) BASE GAME ATM ONLY!

few more item changes and respec my devotion points, i didn’t see any use / impact of the bull, rushed for kraken, got 1 point into it for 50% more total damage, and it’s totally worth it.

Damn, I’ve definitely made myself very poor on SSF characters at the illusionist. Usually I try not to bother while leveling but if I’m looking extra ugly - I just gotta. Grim Fashion is the only way to play the game, amirite.

Nice build journal by the way, OP. :+1: Seeing the journey of new players is always fun. Good luck!

how’s my dps compared to standard my level dps of people here ?

Sheet DPS isn’t that important, as it can wildly vary between skills/builds and also doesn’t take into account a lot of factors. Especially when leveling don’t worry about it. If you can clear most enemies without trouble (not counting maybe the occasional hard boss), then your DPS is good enough

As Torzini said it’s not that important atm. However, as a very rough rule of thumnb, by level fifty with a forcewave 2-hander I’m looking for at least 20K so you are definitely on-track. Dunno if you know, but FW is technically a spell so % spell / casting is the modifier not % attk speed. It makes a big difference to DPS.

yes aware of it  ok, gone to 10k dps mostly with kraken devotion points, powerful !

And look I finally found my new mega sized friend to bash enemies with :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. what is SSF character ?
  2. what is sheet dps ?

SSF = solo self found. What brand new characters have to do since they don’t have any gear from other characters to use.

DPS = Damage Per Second

‘Sheet’ DPS is the basic damage. The ‘real’ DPS is the modified / situational damage you when certain skills and effects activate / proc. It varies depending on what’s going on, especially when you factor in WPS (weapon pool skills - usually the ones with a % chance of activating) etc.

holy molly , am i ready for the 1st skeleton key area ? 0.0 its tempting

Hmmm those resistances need some love. For example, you’re going to come across a fair bit of piercing damage if you use that key. And, seeing as you can’t teleport out, I’d wait until I had some more inventory space as you’ll be leaving lots of lovely treasure lying about down there.

just tell me what ressistances to up against final boss, didn’t manage to kill him with last char, it was always damn close, but I was stupidly in his aoe pool (i think it does damage) most of the mobs are falling with 1st force wave

He does cold damage. He does shred your resistances a bit so maybe overcap cold res. Also the skeletons do pierce damage, I would bring up your pierce res a bit.

im doing fine vs mobs , they can drop me to 60 % if im not careful but mostly they die before that, ok, so I’ll prepare my cold ressistance potion vs boss

Maybe use a potion for reduced frost burn duration, not sure if you have the blueprint tho.

Incidentally, do you have an endgame spec in mind? Are you wanting to use Forcewave as your late game skill?

sure, I started with it , wont completely change char

btw, will I meet the necromancer that made all of them undead ? I thought he was gonna be the final boss

Uhm no. You may get some references to him but you need the expansions for his story. Lore does give some insight into the situation though.

Another great resource to look up specific mobs, to see what they do, is Grimtools: Grim Dawn Monster Database.

It is constantly kept up to date for the current patch, while I am not entirely sure the same is true for the fandom site.
