Hi everybody. Why can I reduce the second skill recharge of Albrecht’s Ray (from 0.3 to 0.2) by increasing the cast speed, but it doesn’t work with Obliteration from the Tome of the Arcane Wastes?
because item granted skill tooltip doesn’t factor changes in i think
but it should still be affected all the same (take some gloves with just 20+ cast speed+cast speed component, with 0 dmg bonuses and equip on off and you should see DPS increase)
Yes, DPS is increasing! Thanks
Is there a benefit to using Obliteration vs. AAR? I think my Druid uses Obliteration, and I’m not fond of it seeing how they only allow you to map it to the right mouse button or the skill bar. I don’t think it does enough damage using it like my Spellbinder Aether build uses AAR. Good for clearing trash, but that’s about it. At least with AAR you can assign it to the left mouse button + you can be healed with the right equipment( I think its either an offhand or dagger from the Herald of Flame iirc).
it’s useful to use if you have/want a build using an AAR style skill but isn’t an Arcanist class?
AAR has the advantages it can be modified by items etc, item granted skills like Oblit can’t, but AAR requires you to always be an Arcanist if you want it, Oblit does not
Oblit also doesn’t cost any skill points! And it has build-in rr.
A build with AAR with certain types of damage cannot be assembled efficiently. I want to play through acid and there is very little AAR equipment for this. I want to make a strong warlock who has enough standard healing. To make sure, I’ll lifesteal through the Dreeg’s evil eye and use a Wayward Soul
you can still use pulsing shard on acid tho
you can use pulsing shard on basically any aether ray setup except phys or full blackflame even iirc
i just realized this, it’s wrong, you can’t assign AAR to LMB, nor would it make sense if you could and couldn’t for Obliteration since they are the same skill
Was this always the case or was it something they changed in one of the patches in mid-late 2024? I must be thinking of another skill or something like Cadence. I just checked my character & AAR is mapped to the RMB & “move to” is LMB, so I must be getting mixed up. Sometimes I just prefer to have a primary attack skill(or most frequently used) mapped to the LMB.
i’m pretty sure AAR was always blocked from LMB, not 100% sure because swizz cheese memory but kinda sure. Cadence and regular default attack replacers are different and as such could always be placed on LMB
If i had to guess it’s something todo with the “integrated” automatic move or attack function, where a channelled skill like AAR would just start lazoring and not actually move you, ie default action is to attack even without a target. And Cadence etc just moves when no attackable thing is in range and attacks when there is something
this is potentially easiest compared using RMB for both, AAR will beam without a target and without moving, and cadence will either attack if clicked close or move then attack (resulting in stutter step attack if kept doing/holding down RMB where as with LMB it’s then noticeable fluid)
