I know that people play differently and some don’t pick up every component they find… but I do. Since I do I have 2 stash tabs dedicated to keeping them separated between complete and partials. Even with this organization though the actual use of them is still a chore as there is no way to isolate only those relics which can be used on X/Y/Z item. I know that you can hover over an item with your stash/inventory open and any component you have will slightly illuminate to show that it can be used. However, once you move the cursor off the item that highlight disappears and when you have components all over the place in your stash it is difficult sometimes to recall where the illuminated ones were. So! To the point of the thread!
Why not turn relic creation/use into a feature of the blacksmith? This way you can ‘give’ him your boots and in a different window the components that can be used on that item would appear and you’d simply select from those. I believe this would be much cleaner and make the ‘enchanting’ process a more enjoyable experience.
Possible downside - no enchanting out in the shit
easy fix - still allow the player to enchant the old way if they so choose.
edit
Just thought that it would also be great, if such a feature were implemented/modded to also show what components the smith can make that can be used on the item you place in the window, along side the completed components you personally have.
Just to be clear - you’re having trouble finding the right components you need to put on gear for your equipment right?
If so, when you click the sort icon on the stash tab, it will sort them alphabetically and by rarity, so commons in alphabetical order, then rares… does that help?
I think it’s more that Wittgenstein would like something easier when deciding/comparing what component to add to any item.
So that you can have a list of what fits for easy mouseover compare, instead of the mouse over an item, try to remember all the components that light up, compare the first few, mouseover the item again to remember the others that lit up, rinse and repeat until sorted
That is correct. I understand that sorting them in the stash/inventory alphabetizes by rarity. However, remembering what everything does is a bit tedious. Beyond the capabilities of mortals? No. But I can’t think of any reason why the process should be as complicated as it is.
I also agree that there should be separate inventory space for the components themselves.
Still limited by those stuff like Manticore Eyes but yeah it is less bad that way. I’m still finding myself going back to my first character quite often cause I’m lacking either a couple of Eyes Blood or those freaking Seals for exemple.
I dont see how that solves the problem as your solution causes you to lose a stash tab for gear. Of course it isn’t really a problem with mods and they’ll increase the stash space apparently in the expansion but that still is besides the point. Space issues are tangential to the purpose of my post which is convenience.
