Changing Character Gender and Name Using Editor

So I looked at most of my charcter rosters and found that 90% were male and 10% were female. I tried to balance that out by switching their gender and renaming them using GD Defiler, and I seem to be experiencing 2 problems:

  1. characters that were originally male, then changed to female gets the correct body replacers, but is now left with a tranny-like facial features. At first it made me laugh, but now it really is bothering me. Is there a way to copy over the female face replacer into the save file to remedy this?

  2. saved files of characters that were renamed are no longer read by cloud saves. they are still recognized by local saves, but updating your cloud saves by your newly renamed files will no longer show up in the character select screen.

can someone give me some advice with this? i still do have my original saves pre-edit but i do want the gender change/rename edit to stay. seems like im corrupting my saves unintentionally though.

no one knows why this might be?

  1. the save file also contains the file used for the face, so you keep the bearded face of the male but get the mesh of the female when all you do is change the gender. For the reverse, you should get very clean shaven men.
There is no way for you to manually fix this, as the file is encrypted. You will need to use a tool that does this automatically when switching between genders, like GD Stash

  2. Unless you rename the dir to match the name, I assume the cloud simply takes precedence, as it has that file / char already, thereby ignoring / overriding your local file changes

  1. noted on number 1, i never really used gd stash as a character editor before, i guess, ill fiddle around with it.

  2. thanks for letting me know, this is really a shame as would love to play my saves in multiple locs without USB. guess ill just have to do it manually and screw the cloud save (was never safe to rely on cloud saves, anyway :l)

For 2., if you rename the local dir, the cloud should understand this to be a new char and upload it. Of course that means at that point the cloud has each char twice, once with the original name and once the renamed one.
You can then delete the old one in game, which should also delete it from the cloud.
