I have read I need to have my cloud save turned off on both steam and in game.
Where do my games get saved then?
Is there a way to get my old character back?
Is there a work around for this?
Is there a way to save your game while playing?

did you follow the “move your saves” thread step by step? because then there should be no character loss?
when you turn cloud off ingame the game saves to documents folder/my games/grim dawn
so your cloud folder saves (if steam) needs to be moved there to show up ingame
this can be done via ingame function, or manually by simply moving the files
*can manually move your saves from here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\folder of numbers\219990\remote\save\main
**c program files is the default steam client install location, if you installed steam client elsewhere the start path will just be different, the saves are still located in your steam acc number folder+grim dawn id folder
