Character spawn location

Hi there!

It’s getting really annoying that no matter where I am in the game, no matter where I stand when leaving the game, no matter where I die, my character ALWAYS spawns in Devil’s Crossing. And, if memory serves right, it wasn’t like that before the latest patch.

So, wtf?

You’re probably not crossing one of the points that trigger you to spawn in a particular location.

And what are these points?

Good question, only Crate know exactly where they are at any given location. The rest of us just have to run around and hope we hit them.

The places are roughly:

  • place before prison gate in Devil’s Crossing
  • well in Homestead
  • command post in Fort Ikon
  • vendors in Coven’s Refuge
  • command post in Sewer Hideout
  • Shattered Realm portal in Conclave of the Three

Minste of Information to the rescue. :+1:

Been there, seen it. And still, my blademaster keeps spawning in DC. What am I doing wrong?

Your spawn is set for the last of the places specified. So, if you go back to DC and exit the game, that’s your spawn for the next session.

Maybe verify game files.

No it’s not that easy ibugsy …
Let’s assume your last spawn point was Homestedt. Now you port to DC and immediately turn off the game. You will start again in Homesteadt and not in DC !!!

Why?

Because you still have to move in DC. It is not enough to pin and stand at the portal and finish the game. This does not save the new location yet. You have to move to the trigger point in the new city. Where exactly are only the developers know. But it is enough to know that you are still running around after the teleport. Then start the next rewspawn in this location.

For my part, I just walk through the gate in DC, that’s enough …

Thats the little difference, if it works or not…

To change your spawn point you need to get close to the above mentions spots. And everytime you walk into the prison in DC, you change it back to DC.

If it really is not saving anything but DC, then you might have a file permission issue. But you should notice this not only for the respawn location.

Ok, thx, I got it. Just to be sure - there is no spawn point in Steelcap District, right?

There isn’t. It’s like that for multiplayer reasons, to avoid having a player spawning into a game that has the quest to free Steelcap District and that player spawns in the middle of several enemies.

Reasonable, but I still wish there was one. It’s the most convenient base camp in all the game.
