Greetings! This is my first time posting here, although I’ve been visiting the site for ages!
Well, the idea here is to create a feasible build to play through the game’s campaign without any problems, without any great pretensions. To do this, I’ve decided to use the Chillwhisper set, as I haven’t seen any builds around here and I find that strange because the set looks fun and, above all, easy to use.
All of this is based on theorycrafting. You would only need to use three buttons, plus the panic button, of course.
As you can see, the damage skill is Drain Essence, and we would use Bone Harvest and ABB to boost the damage.

As I said, since this is my first time, I know there’s a lot of room for improvement, which is why I’m turning to this temple of wisdom for help.
Secondly, I don’t have any particular experience with Drain Essence, but I can give some generic feedback.
I’m not sure Amarasta’s Blade Burst will play well with this. It does give a big cold damage boost, but it is melee range and interrupts your channeling. And you already have the bone harvest that also interrupts channeling, but has better range.
Health looks fine, OA looks okay, DA low but fine considering multiple sources of OA shred.
Low resist overcaps, especially on elemental
Very low armour, armour absorption, and physical resistance both, that will make you vulnerable to many attacks. 1900 armour with 92% absorb is generally fine for a caster, but you are a close ranged caster and are under even that, with only 9% physical res to boot
Casting speed is overcapped even with average item stats. So you don’t really need that hand component. Can get spellscorched plating for resists, or increase armour absorption by moving the ugdenbog leather from the legs to the hands and putting scaled hide or something on the legs. You can also replace the seal of annihilation with something to boost resists.
Very low slow and freeze resist. That will kill a channeller, as are you extremely reliant on life drain for survival. Phantasmal armour can help with freeze res a bit, but you probably need to look at devotions and gear.
Am I missing something, or do you not have a source of flat RR? Could try to work in Rowan’s Crown or something.
Why the fox devotion? You don’t inflict weapon damage and don’t benefit from the life drain, and don’t deal bleed damage. (It helps ABB and bone burst, I suppose, but doesn’t seem worth it on this build.)
Why the Behemoth devotion? You’re not a regen build. Admittedly 4 nodes for the proc give health/armour which is nice for everyone, but for this build I would prefer Chariot which has a much lower cooldown heal proc and gives a lot of OA and secondary restances which you lack.
Some augment choice look a bit odd, why is there pet augments on jewelry? If you want OA, there’s also Skyshard Powder which boosts it AND gives a lot of cold damage.
I might try something like this:
I left all gear choices alone, but swapped some components, augments, skills, and the devotion map.
My version fixes most of the points outlined above, such as the secondary resistances and adding flat RR. Also has a bit more OA, armour/absorp and better overcaps. (Except for poison, but that’s pretty rare. Just watch out for Kaisan.) But it comes at the cost of lower health which is not ideal either. So do continue to tweak it to fix those issues.
(I recommend waiting with such details until you have found the actual greens you are going to use anyway, since those will change things a lot. But it gives an idea on what to aim for.)
both ABB and Bone Harvest are all wrong for this build. You don’t use flat damage boost with DE. It’s not how you make this build. And you are missing flat rr which is another big mistake.
