Cold Doom Bolt nerf for 33% dmg was too much

As i said in the Doom Bolt topic, the nerf of the cold conduit for 33% dmg (after two certain individuals incorrectly assessed the Witch Hunter’s performance and reported it as stupid OP) is way too harsh.

The build went from fun and only slightly overtuned to a mid performing miserable sack of potatoes.

We’ve argued with @mad_lee a lot about the build. His main argument for calling for nerfs for it is not the build’s absolute performance but rather that it’s “a two item build”, meaning it only needs Harbinger helmet and a conduit to function, and “can’t be as good as builds supported by a dedicated set”. Which in my opinion is fundamentally wrong approach. The build in question needs a lot of specific items to reach its top performance, some of them are pretty expensive and make the build more expensive than some of the conventional set builds with similar or better performance. No build should be explicitly penalised for being unconventional or conduit enabled.

33% dmg nerf, 33% slower run, man that’s crazy how it worked out

My argument was not just a “two item build” but how easy that build was in terms of qol and gearing to have basically infinite sustain by just left clicking anything on screen. Like the resources you spend there is like few skill points on main skill and three items and that’s it. The overall %damage value is somewhat low, standard double rr with one cursebearer ring worth amount of extra rr etc. Also makes other doom bolt builds kinda senseless in a way that it requires less items/resources and works much better and easier.

But yeah, I agree that nerf is a bit much.

Maybe it would be fair for it to have such high damage if it didn’t have access to weapon damage leech at all, like you can make it have even higher damage but you can’t leech with it then yeah.
