I think it would be great to be able to cancel the current movement command.
Currently the only way to stop the latest issued movement command (that I know of) is to click near your character so that he moves there instead, but there is no command/key press that would make them just stop in their tracks, which I find a little disappointing. Coming from the field of MOBAs, being able to make my character move, but not making them stop moving feels really clunky and unintuitive.
I would be really happy about if I were able to just press a button on the keyboard and my character stops moving. Either instantly or with a small delay, I don’t really care, as long as I don’t have click backwards.
It’s pretty much Shift for almost every ARPG i’ve ever played, the problem here is you’re coming from MOBAs which is probably why you’re not used to this
It does what it says it does, which is enabling stationary attacks. What I was hoping to find was making the character stop on the spot when pressing the assigned key.
For example, if I were to click at the top of my screen to send my character 30 meters away, I can not simply press a key to make him stop moving the full distance.
SHIFT alone does not do that, it needs an attack command afterwards. It overrides the movement with an attack, but it’s not a simple cancel of the movement.
Well, I realize you are requesting something, and I have no idea if it will ever get in game or not, but for the time being, you can stop on a dime in GD by holding shift and any old random left click (meaning it does not matter where your mouse is pointed). So, while it is not a single button press, it is really quite easy to get used to.
