Community Localizations (Build 23)

Would b21’s zip do?

If not I could update a couple of early quests to b23 and post it after work.

This seems to be working for me. Can anyone else reproduce this issue?

You might want to try verifying your files in Steam.

Do you guys ever rest ?

HO HO HO! Merry Christmas everyone!

Ok, I did some snooping around (and a lot of questing!) It turns out to be a scaling problem.

I fired up the game on an old system @1920x1080 and the quest reward window worked fine.

However, @1360x768:

Anything left of the middle of the slider, and blocks start showing up as shown in the link to the old threads.

Would it be possible to stick my translation thread on the Steam forum, please?

It’s not really realistic as we’ll end up with a forum full of sticky threads, one for each language.
Instead I’ve rebooted and stickied the Community Translations thread which will now contain a single post for each language.

If you’d like to write an introduction to go in the post (in both French and English please), post it up here and i’ll copy it over.

Thanks!

All captured with a same character, the only thing changed was the language option. I suppose i didn’t make mistake while translation.

Deathmark Vallar
How goes the hunt?
1.Mogara lies dead.
2.How goes the hunt?
3.Continue.
4.Where is Homestead?

Deathmark Kadris
Where should I look?
1.The manticores roam the Jagged Waste to the west of here. Be careful out there. I need the poison in one of their glands, not in your veins.
2.We are dealing with a large group of cultists up near Homestead, and they are starting to bring in the larger demons from the void. We need to turn the tide and fast, or soon there won’t be a home to defend. If you bring me back a venom gland from a Wastestalker, then I will gladly provide you with a blade specially coated with their poison. Should do some serious damage in a fight. What do you say?
3.Not interested.
4.Good luck out there.
5.You are naive.

Amkala
Did you know that Arkovia is the ancient birthplace of the Rhowari? I could tell you much of this land if you have time for a tale.
1.Continue.
2.Continue.

Amkala
A Grim tale indeed. If only there was a way to ease the suffering of this land.
1.I sense there is something you’re holding back?
2.Yes, the most terrible part of this tale. I had thought not to speak it but you seem determined to seek the full truth.{^n}{^n}The last part of the tale is of the children birthed after the ritual’s magic had taken hold. They entered this world horribly deformed and inhuman. Their feet were said to be clawed and from their backs sprouted diseased plumage, like the feathers of birds who feast upon the dead. Not many venture into the Broken Hills anymore, but those who do say these accursed children of Arkovia have endured and now prey upon travelers who pass through those lands.{^n}{^n}Thus the doom of Arkovia was complete, wiping out the past and future bloodlines of the great houses and cursing these lands to this day.

Sorry for these large pics. And i remeber that the NPCs’ conversations are also buggy at the Deadman’s Gulch.

Translated files(I think the line numbers are good as the English files.): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3CtM6LXN1A4TzZSY25IUUg4djA/view?usp=sharing

Here some more contradictions:

Pic. “20141226_153750.jpg” with “b23_english.zip” and Pic. “20141226_162556.jpg” with original language file (text_en.arc)!?

I mean the “b23_english.zip” are not the same like the “text_en.arc”!

Dear Santa! I was a very good boy all this year! Please, bring me a correct npc_* files! Thank you!
Merry Christmas, guys!

I think this phenomenon occurred because it has started a new line for the text which should be connected by “{^n}{^n}”. Perhaps, almost all the defects of the newly added texts make this the cause. I attach some texts which tried a correction as samples.

Thanks for the reports and the investigation into this bug. Looks like it may require a hotfix. I’m working on it and will try to get it out to you guys as soon as possible.

Great, thanks a lot ! It looks easy to read.
I’ll think about an introduction. I don’t think it is very necessary at the moment for visibility reasons.

Pls add Ulgrim and Harvey the drifter to buggy conversations’ list.

This is not very important, but the mingled letters used in French “æ” (a+e) and “œ” (o+e) are not recognized. I can translate without it, but, you know… it costs nothing to signal it.

Happy new year people, all the best to you and your families!

Here’s a weird one.

I’ve managed to make genders work in item descriptions (Rare belt, magic ring etc etc). However, I can’t make components work. (Augments work by the way)

In items, I set tagComponentIncomplete and tagComponentComplete to [ns]partial, [ns]complete. Ok.

Now, in game, when I have a partial component it shows up fine. “Partial Component 1/3” But when I complete it, it then shows “[ns]complete”.*

When this component is rare, I get “rare[ns]rare partial”, but when I complete it it shows up perfectly as “rare complete”.*

What am I missing?

Edit: Ok, fiddled with tagComponentNumberRare and one part of the problem is fixed. The only thing left is to get rid of the “[ns]” part for simple complete components.

Hello Rhis

Currently, there are some problems in the texts display of Japanese.
Since there is no Japanese font set, I’m using “Fonts=tt” setup now. However, in case of this setup, the interval of Kanji characters are narrow and so characters overlap mutually (A). Moreover, since there is no space in the right-hand side of a Kanji character, a Kanji character will adhere with a Hiragana and Katakana (B). Could you correct this character gap?

Japanese Unicode Table is here
http://www.rikai.com/library/kanjitables/kanji_codes.unicode.shtml

and my translated file is here (in Japanese Translation thread)

best regards

Any news to the hotfix!?

+1 Still waiting :frowning:

We cannot play Act 3 in local language (Russian) because of this nasty bugs. Translation was done a week ago and that’s why this is really sad. Literally - see Ulgrim after troll’s dungeon, can’t speak with him properly and quit game and start it all over again with new characters.

Hello Rhis

Some place names don’t fit the screen when the minimap is in medium size or minimized. I can replace some words with smaller ones, but in some cases I have to change the original meaning of the name. UI scale doesn’t help much. Could you fix this?
