Now that the Blightlord set got fire RR moved away from Siphon Souls and into Spectral Wrath - and that change is marvelous - could we perhaps also rebalance Compelled Wraith in similar manner? Compelled Wraith - Rare Off-Hand - Grim Dawn Item Database
Siphon Souls doesn’t serve almost any purpose on a fire Defiler Blightlord:
it’s a pain in the ass to use as it’s basically melee
just adds another button to maintain
you can’t even realistically convert its damage to fire (that conversion is tied to Blazeheart, Blightlord caster wouldn’t really want to dual wield two daggers)
it even stands out visually because Compelled Wraith lacks fire transmog
Transmuter Blackwater Cocktail Blightlord can just use Zarthuzelan offhand (even if the chaos conversion is redundant). Spam BWC however would much prefer Compelled Wraith - if it didn’t come with that awkward Siphon Souls reliance.
Arguably that build would basically be unchanged, you do have fire Siphon Souls but the entire setup would work just fine if the RR part was on Spectral Wrath instead. You’d lose 1 second of SS CD (depending on the supposed changes) & some damage to trash mobs?
Even more, you could alternatively opt to just use Blightlord dagger instead of Blazeheart to remove 1 button press - Drain Essence builds would rather just cast the spell itself rather than play skill piano.
Atm the only time fire Defiler wants to get close and use SS is if they use Blazeheart. I guess that was specifically the reason that Blightlord got fire RR moved from SS into Spectral Wrath.
