Complete List Of All ARPG Games

Skilltrees not lack of ARPG do not make.

Ceno’s correct. I mean, ignore history and terminology all you want… totally be one of those people who defines words in whatever way suits their own personal feels, but if you look at gaming history the first ARPG’s did not have skill trees. Most famously the Legend of Zelda.

Well, in fairness LoZ is probably more an ‘adventure’-RPG, but in light of that I think it’s a harder case to make that a skilltree is essential for the ‘action’ part of action-RPG.

Zelda are action-adventure games, not action-rpg.

Take it a bit more seriously, ok.

You didnt get it? interesting. Just read the 1st set of your own definition.
Or should i turn on the light?

Its your view of things, only your own

In this way, isometric is your main criteria. The playstyle doesnt matter.

That was your own definition where i compare, not mine.
If that are the important things for you, there is the result…nothing more or less.
Reading or looking videos about games is superficially.
Play self the games, or ask people which played it for a while, without part of emotions.

As long you presume me things like this

i cant take it anymore seriously.

Have a nice day, i’m out here.

How old are you? XD

Maybe a bit older as you think.
I sayed before i know well games of the earlier 80’s too.

I just went through each of them and added the release date. Enjoy !

I really appreciate what you did here.
I can’t believe you bothered with this, but hey, thanks for your contribution.

The only “problem” is, your list is already outdated. I have removed Gauntlet, which is an Action game, and The Bard’s Tale, which is pure RPG, not mix of ARPG and RPG as it seemed, as some websites have suggested. ShadowFlare was added on the ARPG list.

Just like I mentioned before, the list will be constantly updated. Some games will be added, some will be removed, to get as much accurate list as possible.

If you wish, feel free to add games from the list in my third post. I made three posts in a row fearing the original one will be too large to read, and that people will lose their interest in reading it. Over the time maybe I’ll merge the two lists into one.
In other words: pure ARPG games and ARPG games with other genres mixed will be listed together.

Also, we’re yet to see if Lost Ark and Lineage Eternal will be single player games as well. If they are only MMORPG, they will be removed. I have found some info that they have single player content, but you never know how will the final product look like.

If you add Bastion - you should also add the Van Helsing Series. //Edit: Forget about my Van Helsing argument - now i saw it… //Also are only PC HnS allowed or also Console/Handheld ones? If so - i would also add Champions of Norrath for Playstation 2 as well Heroes of Ruin for N3DS. Dungeon Hunter is also an HnS Series… And in my personal List, even if its pretty controverse because it splits the Community, i would also add Borderlands 1+2 because in its core it feels more HnS than Ego-Shooter…

  1. MMOs should probably have a separate list.
  2. Seems it was cancelled, so this one shouldn’t be on any list.
  3. Turns out it was never even released, so um…

Wait, why did you add Bastion, which doesn’t have skilltrees, but won’t add Dark Souls because it doesn’t have skilltrees?

If you’re racist against the chosen Undead just admit it, dude. :stuck_out_tongue:

This thread’s title should really be “Let’s Argue Over This Complete List of All ARPG Games For PC”. LOL! BTW, doesn’t the G in ARPG mean Game? If so, then the last Game in the title is redundant.

Threads like this always become a fight between x and y… but whatever

Personally I prefer Diablo-like games when taking an Arpg in consideration. It must have:

random loot, some with fixed properties
a bunch of skills
char stats and customization
mobs.

Normally divided in acts. The rest is just different to me, but still enjoyable

The only games I don’t like in this world are sports games.

This is the list of ARPG games for pc only. Unfortunately I forgot to add “For PC” in the title when created the original topic. I’ve added it later, but it only appears in the first post of this topic, as you can see in the picture down below.

If moderators are reading this, I encourage them to change the title of this topic from Complete List Of All ARPG Games to Complete List Of All ARPG Games For PC.

As for your suggestions, you may think Counter Strike and Call Of Duty are ARPG games, but I guess you are free to think whatever you will, but this list only contains facts, not personal opinions.

That one is either Action or RPG, or both Action and RPG, but definitely not an ARPG. Judging by YouTube footage. Not sure if it’s released for pc.

True. It’s not an ARPG, just checked it out closely. It’s on the list because one of those “Similar games to…” suggested it’s an ARPG. Will be removed from the list.

Arguments are healthy as long as they are not toxic. An argument by the definition of the word is not a negative type of conversation, unless turned into one. Just like the word critic doesn’t mean something negative. Because a critic can be both positive and negative, or mixed, etc.
So, you are free to argue here.

As for ARPG game, or Action Role Playing Game game - ARPG is a name of a game type, so, I like to add that “extra” game at the end of the genre name.
You won’t find anywhere genre name ARP game, but an ARPG game.

I haven’t played Bastion, just like almost all of those from the list, but if you can elaborate more on this one, it might be removed from the list.
