Complete vacuum of gloves/boots for some builds

As the title suggests, the lack of MIs of any kind for these two slots means that some builds have basically no options but regular double-rare affix items or suboptimal legendaries for their endgame setups.

An example: A Blademaster running the new Belgothian set, which is in itself very well-designed, has no endgame gloves available to him. Using the set means you’ll likely do 80-100% of your damage as piercing damage, doing very little physical. The result is that Mythical Grasp of Unchained Might, the obvious choice, ends up doing very little.

Stats actually used from Mythical GoUM:
13-17 physical damage
+15% attack speed
19% pierce resistance
30% reduced entrapment duration
+2 Oleron’s Rage

Let’s compare to some other options:

Mythical Voidsteel Gauntlets:
+25 OA
+16% attack speed
26% Poison & Acid resistance
20% Chaos resistance

Mythical Handguards of Justice:
+630 Health
+33 OA
+14% Attack speed
33% Pierce resistance

Mythical Light’s Defender gauntlets:
+360 Health
+15% Attack Speed
30% Poison & Acid Resistance
30% Bleeding Resistance
Increases Armor by 8%

Mythical Chilling Grips of Hagarrad would be a solid candiate, if they didn’t convert 25% piercing damage to cold, which will end up absolutely murdering your DPS if you’re built around Belgothian’s. Mythical Gauntlets of Ignafar have the same problem.

In the end, the best choice is probably either Mythical Handguards of Justice, or, sadly, a blue item made specifically for ranged builds, which is the only gloves in the game with flat pierce/physical damage, percent pierce damage and attack speed:

Mythical Quickdraw Gloves:
8-14 Piercing Damage
+67% Pierce Damage
+18% Attack Speed
15% Vitality Resistance
24% Bleeding Resistance

There’s a similar problem for boots, as well as for both slots for a variety of other builds. I just used the glove example because it’s particularly bad, and because it’s clear, that a pierce-damage Blademaster is otherwise well-supported and something Crate expect people to build.

A new legendary could fix the gap, but a more wide-reaching solution would be to add MI gloves and boots to the game, ideally with well-rounded stats similar to the MI belts added to Port Valbury.

+1 to MI gloves. With imbued phyz resist preferably

I agree.

One of the things that makes Grim Dawn such a great game is the amount of MI’s. There should be atleast one MI for each slot, so you have even more possible builds.

MI gloves and boots would be great, but since they haven’t added them by now I’m beginning to feel like we’ll never see them.

I wouldn’t mind some “special” craftable gloves though, something like the Stoneplate Greaves we have now. Heck, more of those unique craftables in general would be awesome.

The gloves/boots issue with this game seems so easily fixable. Please Create Please.

Doubt on the boots, but gloves (MI or special craft) could be nice, especially since the expansion seems quite heavy on craftable items with affixes.
