So I don’t know if this was asked and answered before, can’t find anything on this topic.
With AoM we got two new classes Necromancer and Inquisitor and logically they come with their own relics. Both Necro and Inq relics have as completion bonus base skills i.e. Reap spirit, Inq seal, Drain essence…etc. While all relics for base classes give bonuses to skill modifiers such as Wasting, Break morale etc.
It’s not something major or gamebreking, but sometimes having + to your main skill can help cap it without using other items.
What do you mean by “base classes”? It’s easily understood for all masteries except for Inquisitor and Necromancer. Also, “modifiers” doesn’t kinda make sense either.
Every relic that has bonus to all skills in a particular mastery adds bonus points to some skills, while every relic that has no bonus to skills, or has bonus to every mastery skill in the game adds your base stats or increases your damage to a certain race.
If random relics, this is these that have no mastery-skill bonuses, gave random points to any skill in the game (just 1 or 2 points for one particular skill) it would not only look weird, but also had no sense. Crate would need to add bonus to literally every single skill in the game as a completion bonus, because some people would, for example, go Doom Bolt Pyromancer with no attack replacer and the particular relic would not give a bonus to DB but would boost anything else that you don’t use - waste of relic bonus, right?
In my opinion, these relic are good as they are right now. I, mots of the time, rather have my % physique, cunning, spirit… I mean % physique bonus on my relic because it’s a HUGE bonus. And if you play Soldier, and have the additional 5% physique, oh damn…
There lies the main problem with this. There’s so many different builds and different ways of playing, there is NO main skill that’s the same for every build using that mastery.
I mean that this is quite strange that completion bonuses are different for Necro and Inq. They get bonuses to their main skills, while other classes only to main skill modifiers.
