I am not sure what is happening, or why, since I can’t find any reports for the game or my system.
As I play, my computer will shut off. I have no reports from the game or my computer indicating what happened. I have tried turning off auto save, which helped a little (i.e. gave me more time), and would save periodically (which also seemed to extend the time before it turned off). It only happens when I am playing, although the time seems to varies.
I don’t think this has anything to do with this game. When a pc shut down, normaly it is because of to high temperature. Try play a bit with your case open and check if your fans are not ditrty or stopped working.
I have a very temperature efficient computer and case, but I have not been able to grab snap shots of the processor temp (and I am assuming this is what is triggering the shut down). However, it has only ever happened while playing Farthest Frontier. I am not sure why, as there are no logs generated since the program didn’t crash, but I believe it may be using more data processing for some reason, which is what is triggering the spike in heat and thus shutting down my machine.
For context: I am running an AMD Ryzen 7 7700x 8-Core Processor (4.5 GHz) with 128 GB of ram with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 on a X670E Taichi motherboard.
I have had some success uninstalling the game completely and reinstalling it. However, as soon as I turn off my computer and back on, then play the game again, it will happen eventually.
I really like this game and want to keep playing it, but I am not sure if I can while this issue continues.
