Condemned buildings

So I have a condemned school, that I can’t destroy or move. It keeps at 18% integrity and I can’t do anything about it. How can I remove it? It takes prime real estate in my city.

It will eventually turn to rubble when it reaches 0% integrity. You can remove it or rebuild it at that time. Ideally there would be a way to either repair or demolish a condemned building rather than waiting for nature to take its course.

EDIT: I haven’t tried this, but others have reported success by using the clear button to remove the building.

when these condemned buildings happen instantly, as more than half my 355 person town has happened… then you can neither click the salvage or move button as this is totally bugged, the screen is shaded out… only the C (clear0 key will remove the build then you have to waste all the resources stored and also start again from the lowest level of new build, so large houses become shacks and trading centre, basic post, and same with barns and production buildings, right now this bug makes it unplayable for me

The " C" key? Like on the keyboard? Or what do you mean

Can’t do much with condemned buildings…
But to prevent them becoming Condemned, you need a bunch of Builders deployed for at least one year, to repair all buildings.
to target specific buildings for repair, select the Relocate option when you click/highlight a building. It can normally be replaced in the same location.

Yeah. If you look at the bottom right there’s a button which has a shortcut key marked as “C”. It’s the Clear option.

You can select the school by dragging a box under it, and then select Clear out of the bottom options. After that it’s pretty much like deleting a building.

A follow on from this:

you need a bunch of Builders deployed for at least one year, to repair all buildings.

The common practice is for laborers to switch automatically to builders if you have too many building projects going on. This does not apply to the amount of repairs your town can use.

You can check if you need more builders for repair jobs by upping your employed builders. If the position is filled immediately (i.e. you went from 19/19 and made it 19/20 and almost immediately it becomes 20/20) that means you have more repairs than your current builders can handle alongside regular building projects.

I’ve found that employing around 5% of your population as builders when you get to the stage of needing a lot of repairs helps them keep up with it. I am at 580 pop on a city that was struggle bussing through condemnation and abandonment until I upped my builders to 30 (just over 5%). That, with my 40 laborers, sorted me out in about a year with repairs and condemnation having being spread across 1/4 to 1/3 of my city.
