Basically a place to put gear that you want to show up on your character instead of use. Kinda like D3’s transmorgify or whatever, but you gotta keep that item on you. Would give more character customization, allow for a new loot type “costume” that’s just neat looking or silly style armor with no stats meant only for the costume slots.
Would give extra incentive to keep old set pieces or random armors so you can use their looks.
Have been suggested multiple times. I don’t reckon we’ll get it though. Not trying to be pessimistic but it just doesn’t feel like it suits the philosophy the devs have with GD.
Who knows, maybe they will add cosmetic slots in an expansion.
Possible solutions:
Add another button, like the weapon swap, to character screen and have it toggle between equipment and cosmetic slots.
Add a wardrobe up near the quest giver that sends you after fabric. The wardrobe could work like in LotRO and allow you to drop any item into it, then you could either equip it via the wardrobe or via the character panel solution I mentioned in # 1.
If the devs can’t do it, maybe it can be done via mods.
